Swisher's 24 in. self-propelled walk-behind rough-cut mower is perfect for cutting trails through the woods and clearing fields and ditches year-round. It will clear the densest undergrowth and saplings up to 1.5 in. in diameter. This self-propelled walk-behind features an 11.5 HP (344cc) Briggs & Stratton engine and a heavy-duty fabricated cutting deck with a 4 in. fixed cutting height. Shifting is a breeze with upgraded gear selection lever, now located on the operators control panel. The adjustable height handlebar eases operator control. The single, fixed hardened-steel blade zips through brush and saplings with ease, and the blade is enclosed for maximum safety. Upgraded solid front caster tires remove the unit weight off the operator; improve stability and ease of use while offering flat free performance. Large pneumatic chevron tires roll easily over the roughest terrain for excellent traction in all conditions. The four-speed transmission is great for setting a comfortable pace, and a reverse mode is handy for backing out of rough spots. Front and side safety deflectors protect against flying debris while the wire shield protects electrical components. NOT FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA! Made in the USA of US & global parts.

This thing is atank

I have done alot of research on these type of mowers. I have alot of overgrown saplings and tall brush on parts of my property. This thing is a tank. I have cut most of it with ease. I highly recommend this machine. I am happy with my purchase.

Good but not what I expected.

I purchased this mower to cut the grass on a hillside but I soon found out it was a little to steep. I would say anything over 60 degrees and it won't work. It would be nice if it had a differential lock so you could cut sideways instead of straight up or down. The handles could have a better ergonomic design because the ends cut into my hands turning and pushing it around. Other than that it worked great on the gentler slopes. It is a very well built machine.

An awesome brush cutting machine.

This mower is a brush cutting machine. I used it to clear acres of Shrubby St John’s Wort that has be growing for years on land we purchased. These plants are tough and 5 feet tall with the trunks from 1/2 inch up to 1 1/2 inch in diameter. I ran the mower at full throttle in 1st gear and it is impressive what it cuts down and the steep terrain it can handle. This is hands down the best rough cut mower I have ever owned.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Disappointed in engine design

The engine is just too hard to pull start. I am a full grown man who farms for a living, and it takes everything I've got to crank the engine. It takes both hands, a foot braced, and LONG pull. Also, the choke linkage is made from very flimsy plastic and I don't expect it will last long. Instructions call for a cold engine start with the throttle wide open and the choke closed. That is a bit unusual, but it did work. Let me tell you, you're not going to want to pull that cord any more than you have to. I have 16hp v-twin Briggs engines that pull start easier than this. Seems to mow OK.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Excited about product disappointed in quality

I am disappointed in the Swisher 11.5 HP walk behind trail mower. The cable that engages the blade has broke twice on me and I have only mowed with it 3 times. Swisher replaced the cable under warranty, but after the cable was replaced, it broke on the next mowing.

No, I do not recommend this product.
