Nutrena SafeChoice Perform is a high fat, controlled starch formula, formulated with more energy from fat for performance and breeding horses and lactating mares.
Helps take the worry out of feeding; controlled starch diets with added fat are widely recommended to help improve performance and reduce metabolic concerns
Makes feeding convenient; it's scientifically balanced to meet the nutritional requirements of horses in all life stages, particularly those with higher energy or caloric requirements
It's nutrition you can rely on as every bag of SafeChoice Perform contains calorie-rich fats from vegetable oil, guaranteed amino acid levels to support muscle development and maintenance, plus added prebiotics and probiotics to aid in nutrient digestion

My old pony (32) loves your feed and is doing sooo good on it. Thanks
What would be a good feed for a 29 yr old miniature horse with Cushings that is a 3 bcs score that can eat hay and pasture? She is on pergolide and has pretty good teeth. I would like her to gain40 lbs before winter.

I`m trying to bring a horse in heavy work up to show weight. Are the feeding recommendations for putting weight on horses or maintaining horses? Is this feed likely to make my horse hot?
Asked by: RedRockteer
Hello, Great question. The directions are for maintaining weight. If you want to put weight on a horse, then feed for one activity level higher than the horse is actually at, to provide the additional calories needed for the weight gain.
The SafeChoice Perform is a controlled starch, high fat product, so should not make your horse. If you do find you want to put more weight on, with less of the SafeChoice, try supplementing with Empower Boost, our high fat rice bran supplement. Thank you!
