The Elk Grove Milling Stable Mix Pellet Horse Feed is a complete pellet, meaning that it contains enough fiber. When fed as directed, the horse food can safely replace other sources of forage in your horse's ration. These horse feed pellets also contain almond hulls, a form of super fiber that provides more calories to your horse than hay, but in a safer form than grains. Stock up with this 50 lb. bag of horse feed today. Use this horse feed with adult-aged horses. Add water to the pellets to create an easy-to-chew mash.

Q: My horses get hay and turnout so the feed is not their only diet. How much should I feed them?

1 Answer
  • A: When fed as the total diet with no other forage, feed at a rate of 1.5 to 2 lb. per 100 lb. of body weight. It is best to increase the amount of Stable Mix over the course of 7 to 10 days by a couple of pounds a day until you reach the recommended amount based on the weight of the horse.

My horses live it. I feed grass hay and use the pellets every feeding for suppliments, as a treat, and when necessary to hide medicine. Been using it for years and they still eat every pellet.
