Standlee Premium Products Smart Beet Pellets are beet pulp pellets for horses and livestock. Standlee Premium Smart Beet is a high fiber source for horses. Smart Beet can be fed to mature horses at a rate of 0.05% to 0.2% of body weight/day, depending on the level of activity. Gradually introduce into the diet over 7 to 10 days. Smart Beet is a dehydrated product and is recommended to be soaked in water (2 parts water to 1 part pellet or shred, completely submerged) for a minimum of 30 minutes or until properly softened. Never feed moldy or insect-infested beet pulp to horses.

Beet Pulp brought my senior Quarter Horse back to life! After losing his teeth and moving to a new home he dropped a significant amount of weight. I was trying every supplement and senior feed I could find and then 4 weeks ago I started Beet Pulp and the change has been miraculous! He gets two pounds a day as a warm mash with his senior feed and he eats every last morsel. The best part is he's acting like his old self again. I'm so thankful for this product! Attached is a before and after picture. If you need to safely put weight on your horse this is the best product out there.

Helps with weight, but….

Have been using beet pulp shreds for a while and have had great results with keeping my older horse’s weight on. More recently (November 2023), we switched to these beet pulp pellets because of less dust to deal with versus the shreds. When we switched, we noticed that she stopped finishing her food, would lay down in the middle of her meals and roll (very unlike her). I was advised by my vet to give banamine for suspected colic. When this reoccurred again within a few days of the last episode, resulting in a hefty vet bill, vet advised to stop using these as she had seen this happening more recently to multiple horses in her care with this product, causing choke or partial choke. I stopped using this 2 weeks ago and she has had zero colic/choke symptoms since, is finishing her food and acting like herself again. Come to find out the beet pulp pellets were not soaking all the way despite soaking overnight in warm water, leaving hard shards left in her food and was causing partial choke. Once off of this product for a full month I will be going back to shreds. I know this product works great for a lot of people, but not for mine.

A real plus for senior horses

Started using this product a couple of months ago with our two senior horses 31 and 32 years old. Very positive results and their digestive system now it’s a regular part of our feeding regiment.

Horses love it!

My horses were on another beet pulp brand. It's good fiber for their stomach. But we would get inconsistent bags, some bags the horses really liked and sometimes not so much. With Standlee Smart Beet Pellets I can count on it being the same every time, not only that, my horses seem to like the taste of Standlee more than the other brand I offered. It's super easy to pick up at my local feed store, soak, and feed. I'd definitely recommend this brand and product.
