I switched all 4 of my horses to this feed over a month ago and they love it!! I have 3 senior horses and 1 middle aged horse. I like the high fat, high fiber, low starch formula of this feed.This feed will make a mash in minutes no matter warm or cold water. I am not sure why one of the reviews said it was a sweet feed, but it is clearly not a sweet feed. Also you cannot beat the great coupon offers they have on this product right now. So far the best senior feed I have ever tried and that includes Purina, Dumore,Seminole, and Triple Crown.

I bought this feed to begin the transition from Nutrena's Life Design Senior to Safechoice's new senior feed since Nutrena has decided to phase out the Life Design series. My horse, a 27 year old TB loves the Life Design Senior. However, despite claims of comparability in taste, he has refused to eat the new Safechoice Senior and has dropped from eating 13 lbs a day to eating 6. Now I have to look around for a new horse feed that will match the taste of Nutrena Life Design -- a very frustrating situation.....at least for me.

The ONLY Horse Feed My Horse Eats

I've been feeding this for years to my senior horse. It took him from skin & bones to my vet saying, "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it! He looks great!!" My horse is in his 30's & can't eat hay so this is his only diet. Thanks Nutrena for a great feed!!

It's a good product but maybe not as carb restricted as I need

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently switched my young mare to Safechoice Senior to try to lower the amount of carbs she was getting along with switching to all timothy. I like the formulation with probiotics and vitamins & minerals. She seems to like it too. I haven't noticed any drop in weight over the past six weeks so I may be switching to the Special Care product. To further reduce the amount of carbs she's getting.
