  • Certified Noxious Weed Free

Ingredients:
Naturally Sun-Cured Premium Western Timothy Grass Forage .

Guaranteed Analysis:
Crude Protein (min.) 8%
Crude Fat (min.) 1.5%
Crude Fiber (max.) 35%

Feeding Instructions:
On average most horses comfortably consume 2% of their body weight in dry forage per day. This equates to 20 lb. of dry forage per day for a 1000 lb. horse. Standlee recommends that you weigh the amount of forage provided to each horse to ensure you are feeding the proper amount. Standlee also recommends that pelleted and cubed forage not be the sole source of forage since feeding some long-stem forage (hay) may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices. Feed Standlee Premium Western Forage at a minimum rate of 1.5% of body weight per day. Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee Premium Western Forage over a 7-10 day period. Replace existing hay on a 1 to 1 basis with Standlee Premium Western Forage. Standlee Premium Western Forage is recommended to be fed wet, soaked in water for 30 minutes or until properly softened, for horses that have dental problems or for horses that aggressively consume their feed. Never feed moldy or insect infested forage to horses. Always provide free-access to fresh, clean water. If you have questions, please contact the nutritionists at Standlee Premium Western Forage, or consult with your veterinarian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! My horse loves it! It's easy to feed & I'm sure he's getting a quality product when our hay supply is iffy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality I really like this brand. I get great quality pellets that are always fresh. I have a horse that is metabolic and eats these as part of his special diet. I recommend this brand for horses that need the pellets to be straight Timothy grass hay because that is what you will get. No fillers and nothing added that can harm your horse. My only complaint would be the size of the bag. I wish it was at least a 50 pound bag instead of a 40.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love love this product Love this product! Had a pony foundering who can’t have grain! Is on a hay only diet with a few supplements! This product soaked and fed 2 times daily has kept him fat and happy! I would recommend this product as a hay supplement or replacement.

What is the rate that this is fed at? 20 pounds per 1000lb horse? Or did I read that wrong?

Asked by: ShelbyL
Thank you for you question. Standlee recommends that horses be fed by weight and not by volume at the rate of 1.5% to 2.5% of their body weight per day in forages. With that said a 1,000lb horse can consume anywhere from 15 to 22lbs of forage per day. Thank you
