You will want to make sure you are feeding a minimum of 0.3 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight per day just to meet nutrient requirements of the horse. If your horse needs to gain weight you will want to feed more than just the minimum quantity or choose a feed higher in fat/calories.10 months agoHelpful?

Another good option may be a ration balancer such as Purina Enrich Plus. Enrich Plus is for horses that can maintain their body weight on hay and pasture alone. This supplement will give them 100% of the vitamins, minerals and protein needed per day without the extra calories they don't need. Enrich Plus contains 1500 Kcal/lb and averages 12% and starch and is guaranteed at a maximum of 15% sugar and starch. This feed provides a high quality protein, vitamins and minerals to balance forage diets for horses that don't need additional calories from a fortified feed. You would feed 1 to 2 lbs of this feed per day. One pound of Enrich Plus is equivalent to 3 standard 8 oz (1 cup) measuring cups.a year agoHelpful?
