No snow yet. This shovel was bought to replace my 30+ year old similar True Temper aluminum shovel. Quality tool! The angle bracing struts reduce any twisting flex. Steel wear strip. We'll see how I take to the VersaGrip handle...

I bought it to replace a 20 yr old True Temper Arctic blast aluminum shovel I'd worn down well past the steel strip. Poly's don't work for me to get down to pavement. It arrived just as the last February snow melted, so I never got to try it. I'd rate it five stars just for keeping snow away for ALL of March! I did not get to see what the strange yellow grip will do for me.

Nice shovel! Works best on surfaces that don't have many deformities, otherwise the shovel will catch on any jagged surfaces and jolt you. It also works best for snowstorms of less than 6 inches, since it's mainly a push-shovel. You're best bet is to use a regular shovel for lifting/carrying snow along with this push-shovel for cleaning up after any snowstorms. I researched many shovels before buying this one, and you won't find many shovels out there that have the reinforced steel strip on the edge of the blade that will keep the shovel from wearing out after many years of use. I had another shovel that was very similar to this one (had a plain wooden handle) that had the reinforced steel strip and it lasted me for over 20 years until I lost it (left it outside one night and it was gone the next day). I honestly think this shovel will last as long, if not longer.
