The SB1093 is the last word on belt/disc sanders, built to true South Bend high-precision industrial standards.

The precision-ground cast-iron belt and disc sanding tables each tilt from 0-45° and feature a slot for the included miter gauge.

Additionally, the entire belt assembly pivots for vertical, horizontal, or angled sanding-with machined detents for locking at 0, 45°, and 90°.

The large-footprint, heavy-duty one-piece cabinet steel base makes for vibration-free operation and houses the 1-1/2 HP TEFC motor and 4" dust port.

This reliable, precision-made, smooth-running sander is a must for any serious woodworking shop. From fairing complex curves, to squaring the ends of custom-turned bowls or vases-and everything between, the SB1093 is the perfect combination sander for the job.

A little chagrin

This is a solid machine. I gave it 3 stars because the finish of the cast tables was pretty rough, requiring a file and elbow grease to remove flashing along the mounting channels of the belt sander so the bolts could pass through. In addition the edges of both tables are ground to a sharp edge begging to cut into any wood that is bumped into it. It’s not going to cut you but the quality of finish does not suit the units price point. All of this is easy enough to rectify but not without a little chagrin.

Good sander

Sander came packaged perfectly. Easy setup. Would give it 5 stars but the on/off switch is in an inconvenient spot and the dust collection needs a dust port directly to the belt. Dust collection works well with the disc but is really weak on the belt. Good running sander though.

This belt and disc sander is really well made. It's very heavy, which helps minimize the vibration. In addition to being quality built, it looks great in my shop.
