Rated 1 out of 5 by from Upset We purchased this stove 2 winters ago for the basement and we have had nothing but problems , it broke down the first year. Now it won't light right keeps flashing e3 or e4 junk one problem after another. I have never had such a dirty pellet stove we have to clean it 2x to 3xs a day you start it and it burns for 2 hours then window gets really dirty and it starts to fill up with ashes. Next it gets full of pellets then they don't burn they overflow onto the side so you have to clean it within 7 to 10 hours. Needless to say I have 2 pellet stove and my other one is 20 years old and is way better than this one. I will never buy a stove like this again. Junk don't waste your money.

I see you said if using a masonary chimney you will need a pellet vent pipe. Is that if it is over 15ft or is that no matter how tall the chimney. I will be running the pipe through my wall into the chimney

Asked by: Hunter0721
If you plan to run your pellet pipe into an existing chimney, you will need to run the pellet pipe all the way to the top of the chimney for proper operation. The reason you need to do this is because your pellet stove is designed and programmed for pellet pipe which is 3" or 4" in diameter. most masonry chimneys are 6" or greater. This will put additional back pressure on the exhaust blower decreasing the amount of air it will move. This reduced air will cause errors in the stove vacuum switches and it will burn poorly. If over 15 feet, please use 4" pipe to reduce air restrictions.

If your home is a manufactured home or very air tight then yes you do. The crawl space must be a ventilated crawl space.

If a person wanted the vent this pellet stove in a masonry chimney would you have to install another pipe inside the chimney?

Asked by: raptor53
Yes. you will need to install a Pellet vent liner inside the chimney. If beyond 15 feet, it will need to be 4" diameter and run the entire length of the chimney. Venting this directly into the chimney will cause excess back pressure on the blower systems and will significantly impact performance.

details say thermostat hookup ready can an external thermostat be added or is that a mistake in the stoves description. . also says 3 in exhaust. would 4 in be more benifical if you had to have an elbow and run 10 feet stright up ?

Asked by: joe dirty
Yes, this unit has a built in thermostat and cannot use a wall thermostat. The only reason to use a 4" is if you exceed 12 ft. vertical rise in the piping. Therefore, with only 10ft you will have to use a 3". The pellet stove is a forced draft system, which means the bigger the pipe does not mean a greater draft.
