Item Information

The Wiseway from US Stove eliminates the need for electricity by utilizing a natural gravity feed system that eliminates all mechanical parts meaning less maintenance and break downs. This patented revolutionary design is the only EPA certified and UL Listed non-electric pellet stove on the market today. The Wiseway is simple to start and operate. Simply heat the burn chamber and flue and start the pellet flow with a propane torch. This stove uses a natural draft that will take over and ramp the stove up to temperature. Adjustments are simple by opening and closing fresh air intakes on the front of the stove. The window allows you to see the flame traveling up the body of the stove. Since it uses no electricity heat is radiated off the 3 1/2" tubing and the steel baffles on the back. Best of all, this stove offers extremely small clearances on the rear and sides making it easy to install. Best of all, Since it does not use any electricity this stove is the perfect souce of heat for areas that are prone to blackouts or off the grid installations.

US Stove Gravity Feed Non-Electric Wiseway Pellet Stove, 2,000 sq. ft., GW1949 is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not feeding correctly Thought this would be good supplement/back-up heat source for my home. First start up stove ran to hot, even with it set to low(air dampers open) it burned around 725°. Directions say to get a 3" barometric damper, no one on the east coast has heard of a 3" b damper. Get a 3 inch in line damper. Stove periodically burms up into feeder. Called customer service twice still no call back will try again tomorrow. Guess one more week then it goes back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad design and performance I bought this a year ago and am very disappointed with this stove. I haven’t been able to use two days in a row. The company send me the window because the smoke coming out of it. I have to replaced all sealing at lest every to days the fire dais out and I have to scrape the inside because the pellets burn inside the tube before they are release and by been burn before it drops. They melt together and form hard residue not too easy to clean. I stop using it because couple times am awake and the house is full of smoke. I talked to the store about the issues and was told that the stove only has thirty days warranty. I have wasted the money of the stove plus taxes, the money for all the pipes and the replacements seals. I have about 12 bags of pellets left.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stove. Installed about 1 month ago in a barn nursery room. The reliability is great and we have had no problems with the gravity feed system. We loose power often and needed something that won’t need electric. We have added a fan near the stove to promote room circulation. Takes just a couple minutes to light pellets and stove installed very easily. Would recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from look over the stove throughly - We purchased on the Black Friday weekend. installed it a week later and it worked well for about a week. Suddenly we are getting a lot of smoke in the room and house along with smoke coming out of the pellet area and the door. It looks like we already need new gaskets. Otherwise I love the idea of the stove. Check the gaskets make sure they are complete (no breaks etc.) Not sure the stove works well during rainy days.

What is the max height my Chimney can be? I have a 35 foot chimmney, many pellet stoves won't allow me to use a vent that tall.

Asked by: shockwaveudk
We do not recommend going above 20ft. vertical piping due to the inability of draft in higher chimneys.

how is the pellet flow regulated and is it prone to jam up or quit feeding pellets to the burn chamber

Asked by: Jim Goodall
There is a slid adjustment to allow different amounts of pellets to drop. Being that this is completely gravity fed we have not heard any complaints about this jamming up.

Is this a wiseway built pellet stove, and if it is does it have removal wheels wiseway shows on it's web site? Thanks

Asked by: Dave1952
Yes, the Wiseway is a pellet stove but drafts like a wood stove would. For installation requirements and guidelines, please see our owner's manual. At this moment, there are not removable wheels for this unit.

So, I just asked about having it the basement. If I have an existing chimney, can I use that chimney from a previous furnace? Also, this is a two story house, so, it'd be going from the basement up to the 2nd story. Can it handle that long of a chimney?

Asked by: Dawn111111111
You can use an existing chimney if it is lined with the correct liner. But, wit the Wiseway we suggest to use a straight run of pipe and avoid elbows if at all possible in order to maintain an adequate natural draft.

The picture shows the stove pipe going up and then making a turn through the wall... is there a minimum distance it needs to go up before it can turn to go out the wall?

Asked by: Lynnyhaha
Even though it shows it using elbows we HIGHLY recommend using only vertical piping as elbows restrict draft.

Does this stove need to be vented?

Asked by: Doitjk
