Innovation Pet Big Green Walk-In Hen House, Up to 18 Chickens is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 326.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs quite a bit of work. The instructions are absolutely horrific and it definitely needs work even after completion of putting it together. The wire on it is flimsy and they use little flimsy staples to hold it on (some parts they completely missed the wire and just stapled into the wood). I had to buy 50 more feet of hardware cloth to reinforce what is there already. The roof line in the front and back looks so bad. It is so far from lining up its ridiculous. There are gaps everywhere in the roof that need to be filled. Screw holes dont line up to the wood on the roof so i had to make more holes in the roof and fill the old predrilled holes. Had to move all the latches so that they would close. And the nesting boxes need to be reinforced. This WILL NOT fit 18 chickens. Theyre nuts thinking 18 chickens will fit in this. I have 10 and thats even pushing it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quality does not match price I purchased the coop late 2017. Not too difficult to assemble, but the frames are flimsy and must be handled with care. Advertising is inaccurate as the coop will hold 7- 8 chickens at most and only if they are small breeds. The pull-out tray is made of poor material. The floor will start corroding almost immediately from the manure and the frame will swell in wet weather so pulling out is not possible any longer. So far the frame and roof have held together. I estimate I will get 2 - 3 years of usage out of it at most.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash Cheap trash. Either choose another brand or spend a bit more money. Flimsy piece of garbage. Numerous pieces were damaged straight from the box and had to be repaired upon building. It has been constructed for 7 days now and the material they use for the roof is now seperating from the plywood. The fit and finish is a complete joke. I know it is only a chicken coop but the paint they used is see through practically. I am very disappointed with this product to say the least. I will be calling tractor aupply to see what my options are. Im sure it being already built there will be an issue with me getting a full or at least partial refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality for a great price! Purchased a couple of weeks ago and it was easy to put together. Excellent quality for a good price. Added an extra perch and it works great for 17 Chickens and one Duck.

How many roosting rods are in the coop? How many hens will fit in the coop?

Asked by: Jessica bachelder
There are 2 internal and 1 external roosting bars. This coop houses up to 18 chickens, depending on size and breed. There are many different standards for space for chickens. The Farm Ag requirements are 3 sq ft per chicken. There are also variations in chicken size and personal preference. We publish the maximum number of recommended chickens.

What size is the box this comes in?

Asked by: Tayk11
This is packed in 2 boxes. 2 Box Dimensions: Box 1: 70.59” x 57.28” x 4.41” Box 2: 70.59” x 57.28” x 5.83”

I see the dimensions are 105 in. x 84.6 in. x 77 in. However, I can't tell if that includes the nesting box that juts out. In other words, I need to know the exact footprint dimensions(width, height) of the area that contacts the ground - the cage only.

Asked by: btemp
Those dimensions do include the nesting box. The footprint of the coop is 98.5”L x 55.1”W.

I would like to extend the size of my Innovation Extra Large coop. Can that be done?

Asked by: cherylhunter1111
We do not have an extension pen for this coop. If you are very handy, you could add additional space using the free range door as the entrance. We would not be able to guarantee this addition.

When we put the roof on it did not line up so now i have a space o the middle top of my roof for rain to get in.

Asked by: Melissa2017
You'll want to make sure you are on level ground. Then you will need to "jiggle" (for lack of a technical word) the coop to get it completely squared up. Once it is squared up, the roof panels should come together and close up the gap.

What would be the best way to give this coop some rain/wind/shade protection while maintaining good ventilation. Are there any additional weatherizing/reinforcements to be sure chickens are comfortable in all seasons. I will put chicken wire on floor

Asked by: Annie2430
Depending on your weather situation, you can put up hay bales to protect against the wind or certainly tarps will help as well from wind and rain. This coop has built-in ventilated windows on each side of the enclosed area of the coop.
