Perfect for a 1st time chicken owner

Love this coop! Took about 4 hours with 2 people to put together. Directions were easy to follow. It's exactly what I was looking for with not building my own coop and spending a fortune. I have 10 chickens and so far 3 have moved in. Very roomy with three perch bars, 3 nesting boxes and the inside is very spacious. Others have mentioned the steep of the ramp, but my chickens have had no problem with it. I haven't had to make any additional changes to the security part whether adding latches or extra wiring. I'm in a forest setting and I've have no problem with the latches that it came with. Giving this 5 stars with my expectations!

It technically does the job it’s intended for, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Especially not if it is your chickens first coop after the brooder.
The sliding door for the chickens to enter and exit the coop is my biggest qualm. It is pretty much useless as many wood on wood tracks are (especially since this is an outdoor coop so the door swells and warps with the elements). The metal handle is no help in opening or closing this sliding door so every morning I have to crouch down into my coop and try to muscle the sliding door open, or closed, and it is literally the biggest pain in the world. And I’m only 5’2”. I can’t imagine what a pain this would be for someone taller.
Also, if this is your chickens first coop after the brooder, you have to teach them to use the ramp to go from the run. This means every evening I have to crouch down in the run and pick up nine chickens and set them on the ramp in hopes they will one day do it on their own. But where the issue comes in, is if the chickens don’t want to be picked up, they can just hide under the coop. I can’t get them under there unless I get down on my elbows and knees and I’m not doing that in a chicken run. So I just have to shake my bag of mealworms at them until they feel like obliging.
Also, one of the doors to the run is completely useless to me as it was not manufactured correctly (see picture). That’s a huge bummer for this much money.
I took a risk on this coop because there were no reviews to go off of. So Now I’m leaving a review so you can properly decide for yourself if these are cons you want to live with everyday.
Pro- It’s cute…but I rather it be more functional.

I thought compared to some set ups this was actually nice quality for a beginner chicken tender. I own an over ez coop too, but got this one for future chicks and a grow out or whatever I want. It’s cute. Ours is up on pressure treated wood. We swapped sides for nest and door opening.some tweaks needed. But it worked great. We installed additional locking mechanisms because those are pretty crappy on this coop. Some air gaps but nothing horrific.

Horrible quality and not made to last.

I bought this coop in June of 2024 and now having had it for 2 years I can say I would not buy it again and definitely not at the price i paid. When we set it up we had to add extra locks to keep predators out. We also had to screw wider wood pieces to the roosting bars because the originals were to narrow. One of the spring pins that locks one of the wire doors closed broke immediately and we had to put the pin in upside down to keep it closed and did not use that door again as the other side still worked.
Now the bottom of the coop is falling out along with the track that holds the door. The wood door sliding in wood tracks is not a great design. With humidity the door has continued to stick and now is completely off the tracks. I have to climb in the coop every night and every morning to remove the door or prop it up at night.
For the price it is just not worth it. It is definitely not made to last.

Needs a few adjustments

Instructions were easy to follow. Sturdy and nice material.
1. Assemble where it will actually be installed. It’s HEAVY!
2. Door to brooder boxes open from the bottom and it is hard to see inside. Would be better if it opened from the top.
3. Run roof would be nice if it were on a piano type hinge for ease of cleaning. Otherwise, you are doing a lot of crawling and bending inside the run.
4. Window in the door opens for ventilation. Would be nice to have a way to hold it open so that it doesn’t blow shut with a gentle wind.
5. Good product for the price.
6. Roosts could be a little wider for comfort on their feet.
7. Definitely would only put 6-8 chickens in this coop. It’s tight for the run area with our 6 pullets. Unless you free range and then, not an issue.
8. Very cute design and we have received a lot of compliments.
