The TRIXIE Chicken Coop provides your flock with a safe place to nest, sleep and roost. Fold down the doors of the durable chicken coop, converting them into ramps, and your lively chicks are free to roam. Built to last, this chicken coop is also constructed using solid wood, composite asphalt shingles and a weatherproof finish for years of use with very little maintenance. It's suitable for 2 standard size chickens or 4 bantams. The sleeping house comes with fresh air vents for ventilation.

Great As A Duck Coop

We are using is as a duck coop and it works fantastic for this. The entire roof lits up which makes cleaning it so much easier. While it does not have a run we built on and its just the right size.

Not what I expected

Not at all what I expected. It was very easy to assemble. I had to air it out because of the smell from the varnish. Not impressed with the nesting box set up. Will fix it to keep my chickens from stepping on the eggs. It's not very heavy and got blown over from the wind. Had some damage from being blown over but it is still useable. Anchored it to keep it from blowing over. Had to modify the nesting box roof because when it rains the water runs through the space between the wall and the roof. Roosting perches don't stay in place because the perches are short and had to modify them also.

Not worth your time

Pieces broken right out of the box. Had to glue and nail some things together to make this work and upon moving to it's permanent place, one of the doors was so flimsy it broke in half. Had to piece it with other wood to fix. Floor material is pressed board so I had to cover with other materials so if it gets wet, it wont crumble

Not bad for what you pay.

Easy build. One of the better budget coops and easy to upgrade. I always reinforce these budget coops with hardy backer, silicone and paint. And generally reinforce the roof. Then I still place it under a covered run area. They just don’t stand up to the rain and wind in the Pacific Northwest. I also add a home built stand to raise it off the ground.

Cozy accommodation

My 2nd Trixie Chicken coop, same one as before. I like kits , this one holds no serious issues. Trixie wasn’t damaged during delivery. I repurchased the same coop for the roof . The roosters claws are like a pair of lawn aerator shoes and damaged the roof . Reroofing is easy but time was at a premium. The rest of the coop purchased 3 years ago is still worthy . I have it sitting on a small paver pad and it is stained denim blue .
