This coop may look cute but it is NOT built well and definitely not built for wet wintery weather conditions. There are large gaps around the doors, the window and the roof line. We had to put plexiglass on the roof top before adding the roof. We also had to seal the door gaps with wood trim, however, water is still getting into the nesting boxes. This is our first winter with this coop and I really hope my girls will survive this winter. I am completely disappointed with this coop, especially for the price.

We bought this coop as an upgrade for our girls. Three men put it together in about 5 hours. We put down pressure treated frame for it to sit Also added a few predator proof latches on door, window and nesting box door. We also lined hardware mesh on roof before we added roof as there are large gaps that rats could easily get in. Coop is a nice space for our 5 big girls and we added a low perch, a hanging perch and straw bale to give them different levels of space. I feel like we could add 3-4 more hens but that would be it. Definitely not 14 chicken capacity. Also

Nice size coop with strong metal connectors and strong roof material for the run. Numbered pieces make following directions easier for the build. Spacious interior roosting area that’s easy to reach for collecting eggs and cleaning. Height of the run and large door give easy access to full size adult. The only down side we had was the package was stored outside for a long period of time and the box was saturated with water. Most of parts held up well and were easily wiped off without damage. One sheet of partical board was damaged. We ended up airing everything out, cleaning off and repainting. Otherwise, everything seems of fine quality and should hold up for a long time and provide shelter and safety for our birds.

The coop is nice looking and has enough room for 6-8 chickens. Any more would be very crowded. It comes pre-painted but the coating is a dusty coating and likely wouldn’t last very long so we painted ours with an exterior paint which was very time consuming. It came out of the box slight wet and with some mold forming on it, that took time to clean off before we painted & assembled it. We had to caulk & weather proof it as well. If you have the patience to put some time/effort into making it better, it’s a decent little coop. One of my biggest gripes is that it is very hard to deep clean. There is only one side door and you cannot easily clean the far side of it. Yes it has a removable bottom which is nice, but it’s impossible to get inside the coop to fully clean the entire thing. I have to use a tool with a long handle just to daily clean the poop out of the far side of it. I also don’t like that it is difficult to clean under the coop itself because it is part of their run. Most people might not think that is a big deal though, but I do. This is one of the better pre-fab coops if you are willing to put some work into it. My suggestion would be to build your own coop with access areas to clean it easily. However, the coop is nice and if ease of cleaning the coop isn’t a big deal to you, this coop will work fine. Knowing what I know now though, I would have rather built a walk in coop personally.
