    1 Answer
    • A: The gate latches feature a pin lock system designed to prevent predators or small children from opening the doors. Reviewers mention that the pins act as a safety mechanism for the locking hardware, though some users prefer replacing them with carabiners or padlocks for easier use. This sturdy chicken coop provides ample space and protection for a small flock of up to 10 birds, though the manufacturer's claim of housing up to 14 chickens is unrealistic. The coop has some design flaws, such as the roosting bars extending over the nesting boxes and the door latches being insecur...

DONT GET LOCKED IN COOP! LOL

The coop is great! Was delivered undamaged by XPO. Today I was inside the coop putting up some modifications (a shelf and curtains to avoid the chickens pooping in the nesting boxes) Much to my embarrassment the wind blew the door shut. So just wanted to let people know to make sure and use a big rock or something to prop the door open if going inside the coop. The run isn’t a problem to get out of because you can reach your fingers through to open the latch. But not the coop. The coop and attached run are very sturdy and I highly recommend.

Pretty good quality but WAY to small for 14 chicks

Produce arrived undamaged and with all pieces included. Assembly took about 3 - 4 hours and definitely requires two people. The coop itself serves its purpose but there is absolutely no way that 14 chickens could live in this happily. I think this coop is better suited for 4 - 6 chickens comfortably. The coop itself is only about 15 square feet while it is recommended to have about 3 - 5 square feet per chicken. We only keep them in the coop at night so it isn't a huge deal, but I think claiming 14 chickens is false advertising. We installed an automatic chicken door by cutting the welds on the previous door slot and putting in a Chicken Guard All-in-one door. Works great. in this application and fits perfectly. We also had to extend the run because we felt terrible for our 12 chickens in that tiny run. Remember it claims it can house 14, but even with 12, they are too compacted. If they advertised this for 4 - 6 chickens max I would easily give 5 stars. The construction seems solid and I had no issues assembling. We will see how cold it gets in the winter, but I will likely caulk some of the gaps to better insulate it. However, we bought this coop with 12 chicks thinking we would have room to spare and we were sadly mistaken. Until they update the maximum number of chickens allowed in the product description, I cannot recommend this product.

    It’s cute

What I like: * Good size for a small flock — On the ground, I’d say it comfortably accommodates about 2 large ducks and 3 Call Ducks, but I wouldn’t recommend putting more ducks in it. * Good ventilation — It has plenty of airflow, which is important for ducks. * Cute/attractive design — It looks nice and is much more aesthetically pleasing than many basic duck houses. * Separate area — I really like that it has a separation area from the main run. That gives you flexibility for introducing a duck, separating an injured duck, or temporarily housing one. Things to know before buying: * Texas heat is an issue — Although it’s well ventilated, it doesn’t stay particularly cool. In Texas summers, you’ll need to think about additional shade/cooling. * Not predator/critter proof — I wouldn’t consider it secure enough straight out of the box. You’ll need to add additional protection depending on what predators and critters are around your property. * Needs level ground — This is a big one. If the ground isn’t level, the structure can shift enough that the doors don’t close properly. * Flooring isn’t ideal for a duck house — The flooring appears to be particle board, so repeated washing causes it to absorb water and swell. That’s probably my biggest construction complaint because ducks are, well… ducks. 😂 A duck house needs to tolerate moisture. Putting it together took 1/2 a day with no issues.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I think its ok for a beginner

I wouldn't purchase again, doesn't seem well thought out for a serious chicken coop, laying box's have no cover, would work much better if they are mounted differently.
