From Arizona to Guatemala these are solid hiking boots. Had no problems taking on all the challenges that were presented hiking Volcán Acatenango and Fuego in Guatemala. From muddy trek up through rain forest type terrain to rocky and loose dirt they handled everything well. The back home in Arizona have no issues with them in the desert or more dry rocky terrain.

I will be contacting Merrill about this product. I just purchased the boots for my trip to Ireland. This due to the wet weather. Still at home, slight rain and my socks getting wet inside the boot! Wondering if anyone else having this problem? Please let me know. Been a Merrell fan for quite some time.

3rd pair of Merrell Moab’s. Keep buying them because they’re great for hiking and wear like a tennis shoe. Will continue to keep buying. I like that they added a rubber textured backstrap. Makes it easier for kicking boots off end of day.

The Moab was great out of the box. They came just in time for the first winter rains in Oahu. Handled our muddy ridge trail. A great balance of light weight, comfort, and sturdy over wet roots
