The K&H Pet Products Red 15.3 in. x 3 in. Universal Waterer Deicer is the most universal, thermostatically-controlled water deicer on the market. It keeps water available and ice-free in the winter months for all animals and pets. The water deicer can be used with aluminum and plastic poultry waterers, dog bowls, buckets and other water receptacles. The bottom of the universal water deicer is sealed to prevent unwanted pests from nesting. A 5.5 ft. cord and molded handles make lifting and positioning the water deicer convenient.

Very nice product to allow you to use your summer waters, in the winter. The only downside is you need to keep waterers about half full for this to provide heat throughout the entire waterer. Does a great job and doesn’t melt plastic waterers!

Bought this thing just before winter and sad to say it doesn't work. Our water is frozen constantly in our waterer. It seems to be warm but definitely doesn't do enough to keep things unthawed even on days where it is 15° out.

This is the best cold weather solution I’ve found for my chickens’ drinkers, after trying quite a few. We have had one for 2+ years now and I’ve just bought another since we’ve expanded to two flocks (chicken math!). The first is still going strong even though we’ve kept it outside in the mud through winters and summers. Just make sure the plug stays dry and you’re golden!
