effective but has a design flaw

this is a great tank heater but it has a huge design flaw, the cord comes out at an angle that it touches the coil, no amount of bending and adjusting will keep the cord cover and the cord from getting melted eventually. Very effective but buy the warrantee and take it back when it inevitably gets melted.

I have had to replace this tank heater every winter. Water gets into them and they stop working. I’m in south central Pennsylvania so winters aren’t terribly harsh but I need a sturdy heater for my horses water tank. Do not recommend unless you don’t mind getting replacements frequently.

Great heaters. Been using for a couple of years. It doesn’t keep the whole trough from freezing but does allow for part of it to not be frozen. Definitely recommend it.
