Easy to install and use

I bought one of these a few years ago to keep the water in my 100 gal metal horse trough from freezing and loved it. It's simple to install and use. I just recently bought a second one for another horse trough. Follow the product installation and care instructions to keep the deicer in good working condition.

Works but doesn’t Seal well

So far (about 4 weeks) and only getting below freezing at night it is working well. The first one I bought snapped when I tightened it to get it to stop leaking. For the second one, I had to use Teflon tape and a water sealant so it wouldn’t leak without over tightening it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This water trough de-icer does its job as expected and kept my horses water ice free during the last big storm. I didn’t have any issues and the horses had water. My only complain is that it doesn’t come with any kind of cage. That said, nothing happened, so it’s probably fine, but since you always hear horror stories about trough heaters melting buckets and burning down barns, I’m just a little gun shy.
