Standlee Premium Products Certified Straw Compressed Bales are made from Certified Noxious Weed Free Barley or Wheat Straw that has been double compressed compared to traditional string bales, saving storage space. So everyone on here complaining about this having seeds and obviously can’t read it doesn’t know what you were buying. No where in the description does it say to use as mulch or for water/erosion control. Straw normally is full of seeds. So to give 1-2 stars for something that was your fault is beyond me.

HAS 24D HERBICIDE. DONTUSE ON VEGETABLE GARDEN

they use broadleaf 24D herbicide on the straw and it will ruin your garden for YEARS! Tomatoes, beans, peppers will not grow correctly and you should NOT EAT THEM. It was NOT labeled to not use on your veg garden!

Although a bit pricey, it seems like a great bale of straw. I find it nice and clean. I really like the size it is cut to. Works perfect as a mulch for fall planted garlic and will be transferred to an oyster mushroom bed in the spring. This should be carried at my local store.
