Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pressure Tank Review This is the second CountryLine 85 gallon pressure tank I have had. The first one's inner bladder burst and it gave the water a foul taste for weeks. I have installed the same tank as a replacement and the inner bladder seems to have stayed intact, but the foul taste has not gone away even after a couple weeks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pressure tank It's a pressure tank and it works as expected. And it was on sale when I needed it! I'm knocking it down one star because they didn't carry all the parts necessary to install and had to shop around at several other stores and supply houses to collect the parts I needed to install. Overall very happy to have made this purchase and would recommend it.

I installed a unit 2 months ago and the customer is complaining about high water pressure, would just releasing some air to the tank solve the problem?

Asked by: Instant Plumbing

I have an 85 gal. tank. The pump turns on at 40 psi and off at 60 psi. How much water will the captive air tank deliver per cycle (ie 60 psi to 40 psi)?

Asked by: Jess Boyd
This unit will have about 22 gallons of water that will come out after every cycle, shut OFF at 60 and turn ON at 40. There will only be about 1/3 of the tank bottom that will have water in it. The top 2/3’s of the tank will have only air. The air is to be set at 2 pounds less that the start pressure of the pump. So, the pump starts at 40psi, the tank is to have 38psi in the tank when the pump is Off, a faucet open, no water coming from the faucet, now leave the faucet open and now check the air in the tank, to be the 2 pounds less that the start of the pressure switch.

Is there a way to adjust the pressure in the tank and if so, how?

Asked by: Robi88
The air pressure in the tank should be 2 PSI below the "start" pressure of the pump. Example: with a 40/60 pressure switch, the air pre-charge in the tank should be no higher than 38 PSI. Use an air compressor to pre-charge the tank to the correct pressure.
