I bought this ahead of my horse's cross country move, which involved three days on the trailer. At 20, I wanted to make sure he stayed hydrated and give him as much support as possible. Unfortunately, neither I nor the shipper could ever get him to accept this after the very first tube. He would flail, spit it out, and eventually flee from me when I tried to give it to him. He's not a super picky eater but he HATED this. To be fair, the butterscotch smell was not appetizing and I hated how my hands smelled after trying to give it to him. I have no doubt if your horse will accept it, this is a great product, but I never got to evaluate that. We had to stick with good old fashioned gatorade instead.

I keep this on hand and very glad I do! I of course use it for hauling days, but we live in the south and it can be HOT- and the heat stress can really take a toll on my horse. He is perky, hydrated and happy after a tube of this. He was even coming down with a bit of dehydration colic due to the heat. My vet was going to be a few hours to arrive. Popped him a tube of this and it was he was totally resolved, hydrated, and bright eyed and bushy tailed by the time the vet arrived.

I've had my horse for over 12 years and we spend the summer trail riding and bringing him to stay at a couple different farms.
