Canine Spectra 9 9-way Protection. for subcutaneous vaccinations of healthy dogs 6 weeks of age or older as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by Canine Distemper, infectious Canine Hepatitis, Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2), Canine Parainfluenza, Canine Parvovirus Type 2b, Leptospira Canicola, Leptospira Grippotyphosa, Leptospira Icterohaemorrhagiae, Leptospira Pomona.

  • Dogs 6 weeks of age or older.
  • Meets or exceeds USDA standards
  • Contains Type 2B Parvorirus for rapid immunity and cross protection against all recognized field strains
  • Parvo fraction is high titration, low passage - High vaccine titers help overcome low-level maternal antibody interference in puppies
  • Easy do-it-yourself vaccination yields huge savings, especially for multiple dog owners, breeders, and shelters
  • Economical
  • The dosage is 1 mL of injected subcutaneously. Open syringe by twisting or tapping the cap against a hard surface to break the heat weld. Prepare the vaccine by injecting the diluent into the vial containing the desiccated vaccine cake. Shake well. Withdraw entire contents into the syringe. Thoroughly prepare injection site with antiseptic. Lift the loose skin behind the neck or behind front leg and insert the needle. Inject entire contents of the syringe. Do not inject directly into the blood vessel
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: Before injecting the vaccine, pull back slightly on the syringe plunger. If blood enters the syringe freely, choose another injection site. A recommended vaccination schedule should start at or about 6 weeks of age. The presence of maternal antibody is known to interfere with the development of active immunity. Puppies should be revaccinated every 2 to 3 weeks until at least 16 weeks of age. All dogs over 12 weeks of age should initially receive one dose of Spectra 9 and a second dose 2 to 3 weeks later. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended
See label for complete directions and precautions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hard to use Just bought this item to Vaccinate my 12 week old puppy. Is the Needle not sharp enough? I tried injecting and thought the needle was under the skin. It ended up just spilling all over my puppy’s back. I don’t think any went in. I wouldn’t recommend unless you have experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pre-filled syringe a bust I had to purchase 2 packs for a single dog today. I took the syringe and pre-assembled needle out of the package and diluted the vaccine cake as instructed. After placing the needle subcutaneously I pushed the syringe plunger only to find the needle popping off the syringe and the entire content of the liquid in the syringe spraying all over the dog. None or very little of the vaccine actually was administered and I was forced to buy another package. The second time I made sure the needle was very tightly affixed to the syringe! If you buy this product do make sure the syringe is very tightly affixed to the syringe prior to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This product was a breeze and easy to use. No complaints at all.

Where do I inject my dog? What part of her body?

Asked by: Natalie Cox
This product can be injected on the back of your dog's neck. We recommend pinching their skin between your hand to raise the spot you are going to inject. Hold the syringe level to the dog's back, slowly insert the needle into their skin and draw back slightly to ensure you are not in a blood vessel. Gently press the syringe to administer the vaccine.

Asked by: jlm6
Wait 3 weeks and vaccine them again as directed for the schedule. Please follow the directions on how to vaccinate, vaccine should go underneath skin.

Can this be given along with the Durvet Kenne- Jec 2 in 1?

Asked by: Kelly 73
Yes. Do not administer at the same time as it can be very stressful for your pet. Please wait at least one week before administering.

I have a dachshund 6 weeks old & I need to vaccinate her, I was told by someone i needed to get spectra 5 for her & I also have a 2year old Black and Tan coonhound I need to vaccinate as well I was told to get her spectra 7 or 9  are these correct?

Asked by: Sadie1
The 6 week old puppy should be started with the 6 way, followed up by 4 rounds of 10 way, 3 weeks apart each. Then yearly The 2 year should get the 10 way or 9 way followed up 3 weeks later with another 10 or 9 way as a booster, then yearly. It is recommended to use the 10 way as it has the most coverages.

I have a 6wk old puppy, unsure of shot history. Can I use Spectra 9 on her?

Asked by: TiredHousewife
At 6 weeks, we recommend the Spectra 6, (or Spectra 5) then a series of 4 Spectra 10 ways (or 9 ways), 3 weeks apart each shot, then once a year. We also recommend the Kennel Jec for Canine cough protection, that is once a year.
