Hoover's Hatchery French Pearl Guineas, 10 Count Baby Guinea Keets is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 135.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Okay sorta No one seems to know if elevation/oxygen is attributed to die off on arrival. This group ( diff hatcheries) is my second - 2018 & 2019 - & likely last. Not nice to lose half ur stock within 48 hrs. I continue to support TSC & Hoover if u want healthy keets .. maybe not for higher elevations...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Arrived alive and well I received 9 instead of 10 but I was refunded the cost of one. They are growing well. I am happy to add them to my farm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Birds Guineas are not everyone's favorite. I personally can't get enough. As keets they are adorable and grow so quickly with proper nutrition. As juveniles they are very eager to roost and discover their favorite spot on your property. These are very hardy birds. We love the distinct calls they make. My toddler loves to feed them as we enjoy how they all come running to us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Funny little guys! all 10 of them arrived healthy and alive in a sturdy little box. and boy do they like to talk! since day one they started chasing flies and mosquitoes in their cage. very easy to take care of, found their food and water source right away. have them for a week now and they doubled in size already. i had a cpuple of questions since i am a beginner in raising birds, but the lady on the phone (forgot her name :( )was patient and very helpful! would always recommend this hatchery!

Do you send instructions on how to raise them from just hatched? Can a beginner hobby farmer successful raise these chicks or is this particular “item” for the more advanced farmer?

Asked by: Laura99
Beginning hobby farmers can raise guineas successfully and many actually have them with chicks because they alert to predators and are excellent managing ticks and other bugs. There are special instructions as to game feed rather than chick feed and they do take more heat than a chick when started. Please call 641-323-6100 and we would provide you instructions by email if you would like

How can you make sure they stay on your property?

Asked by: R Ranch
Generally chicks raise in their environment will stay in that environment because they know where the feed source is and comfortable there. Other than that, a coop will help to establish a good home while free ranging

How long does it take for Guineas to reach adulthood, and then when they can be free ranged?

Asked by: Teri54
Good questions, Generally a guinea could be considered an adult to lay eggs around 14-16 weeks and in full 16-18 weeks. They can be released from a brooder (depending on weather) when fully feathered around 5-6 weeks. Temperature in a brooder should be 95 degrees to start and then gradually reduce by 5 degrees per week until feathered and in the 60-70 degree range
