Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Beast This thing is a beast. I tilled up hard clay untouched soil 80 X 80 ft twice. The tiller cut through the roots without any issues. Make sure you check the tire pressure before using. The self propelling tires are an enormous help. I would buy this product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never buy this brand If I could give negative stars, I would. This tiller is a Lemon and the call center LIED to me about where I could take it for inspection after I told them that I wanted a refund. BUY LITERALLY ANY OTHER BRAND. THIS ONE FAILS ON EVERY LEVEL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed! I received my tiller via Fed Ex incased in a solid wooden box. It was very well packaged! All things needed for assembly were included, even the tools required. I'm 58 years old and have never used a tiller before and don't think I've even seen one being used! I'm new to this tiller thing so I didn't really know what to expect. Assembly was easy, even though I had to do it alone with no assistance. Once assembled I added the included oil (Note: The tiller comes with .6 Quarts of oil so I assumed the tiller would hold all of it. It did not! My advise is to add oil until the level is just below the top two threads of the fill hole to prevent overflow!). Once I got the proper amount of oil and added gas in the tiller, I followed directions for starting and it fired right up in just two pulls!! The engine is VERY quiet and almost sounds as if it's not running wide open, but I figured out that was because it is so quiet! LOL If like me, you have no experience with a tiller, don't expect the tines to move very rapidly like I did! The tines turn much slower than I would have thought, and then I began to realize that it's not RPM's that give the tines the ability to break up ground, but they use torque instead!! This is actually much better as there is less likelihood that you will damage the tines or even the tiller itself! I chose the Champion over other tillers I reviewed because it looked to me as if it were the best for the money and I can't help but love that color!! LOL I'm also looking forward to many hours of use with the Champion tiller to break up new ground in my now tree-less back yard! I hope this review helps someone like me who has no experience with tillers. I can't speak for longevity as of yet, but to this point, I could not be happier with my choice of the Champion rear tine tiller!

What Horse Power is this engine?

Asked by: Kyle44
Horsepower ratings are become less common among small engine manufacturers because of variables like elevation and ambient heat. This 212cc engine is about 7Hp in a controlled environment.

Will small rocks about golf ball size be a much of a problem. How does it do in Bermuda grass?

Asked by: M413310
Be aware that the tiller may unexpectedly bounce upward or jump forward if the tines should strike extremely hard packed soil, frozen ground, or buried obstacles like large stones, roots, or stumps. If in doubt about the tilling conditions, always use the following operating precautions to assist you in maintaining control of the tiller: A.Use shallower depth regulator settings, working gradually deeper with each pass. B.Use slower engine speeds. C.Clear the tilling area of all large stones, roots or other debris.
