The DR Power Equipment Pro 18 in. Rear-Tine Rototiller is a top-of-the-line, walk-behind rototiller that gives you the convenience of dual-tine rotation, allowing you to easily switch between forward and counter-tine motion. For tilling or cultivating in established gardens, go with forward rotation. Switch to counter-rotation for sod-busting or loosening compacted soil. Either way, the self-propelled, tractor-style wheels pull the DR PRO XL Rototiller along, making the job easy on you. The drag stake provides extra resistance and can be raised and pinned in place when not needed. It features an 18-in. tilling width and up to 11-in. tilling depth.

Good tiller overall

I have used this tiller for about 100 yards of tilling so far and am happy with it overall. When in reverse rotation mode, it has plenty of power for busting the sod I had. I really like being able to reverse the tine rotation direction; that can really help when you get jammed on rocks. The self-propel transport feature is slow as molasses, but it sure beats pushing 165 lbs uphill. I put it in neutral and just roll when I'm transporting downhill. My only big complaint is that while the pull cord start gets the engine going *super* easy when it's cold, if you have to stop it once it gets hot to pull out a rock, and then try to restart, you can dislocate a shoulder trying to get it going again!
