Excellent Gun Safe for the money

This Winchester gun safe was perfect for my second floor apartment. I did a great deal of research before finally deciding on this safe. A limiting factor for me was I rent a second floor apartment. That meant I needed a safe that wasn't so heavy as to cause me extreme difficulty if I decided to move. The other consideration was not wanting a safe so light that anyone could easily carry it out of my apartment. I considered a 328 pound Winchester safe and this one, a 190 pound version. Both safes were sufficient for adequately storing my firearms. For me, it came down to weight and the fact I am a senior citizen and not as mobile as I was years ago. They were both Winchester safes, which have a great reputation. I ended up buying the 190 pound version. With the additional purchase of a good hand truck, it made the stairs manageable. To make it even easier, I removed the door of the safe and brought it up separately. The easy removal of the door safes on the Winchester models removed about a third of the weight. I could have done this move up a flight of stairs solo, but I was fortunate enough to have help. The 190 pound model I chose gives me more than adequate protection. While not fire-safe, the safe is very well made with heavy gauge steel. It would take a thief some time to break in and even with help, taking this safe down a flight of stairs without a hand truck would be difficult. So while I might have preferred a heavier model, this 190 pound safe very adequately met my needs. The price was reasonable. I ordered my safe online and used ship to store. It took ten business days from placing the order to delivery at my local Tractor Supply Store. I would heartily recommend this safe.
