I just bought this. My dog is 70lbs shepard mix. It looks like a tight fit for him. he would fit ok if I put nothing in there with him. If I put a blanket or something in there he can't turn around. He backs out. I will get the bigger one tomorrow. If your dog is 70+ it will be a tight fit for him I think.

The label listed this for "large" dogs up to 90 lbs. My dog weighs 80 lbs., he won't use it because the entrance is too low for him to get in unless he crawled on his belly. The base area is indeed the same size as the circle he makes in the dirt or snow when he sleeps, but this in no way is big enough for a 90 lb. large breed dog to get into. Total waste of the money.

Petmate Igloo Dog House

Purchased the Petmate Igloo style dog house before the weather turned REALLY cold and we got 10" of snow. My 2 year old black lab NEEDED shelter outside while I was at work. Had one previously with prior dogs and the dog house seemed solid and easy to move if needed. The video that Petmate shows on their website about dropping a bowling ball from about 10 feet is a bit misleading. I took the 1st one back to the store clerk before I left because I noticed a couple locking tabs on the bottom ring of the base to be cracked and broken. So, I grabbed another one instead. Should have looked it over a bit more. It was "broken" / "cracked" at the very top where a worker must have dropped it on its top. A little epoxy to seal the crack from rain and I think it's all good.
