Q: Son just bought CC 800 33 inch mower from you. Does it have alternator that charges battery. If not how do you charge battery snd how often during each mow season

1 Answer
  • A: : When charging your mower’s battery, use only a charger designed for 12V lead-acid batteries. Read your battery charger’s Owner’s Manual prior to charging your mower’s battery. Always follow its instructions and heed its warnings. If your mower has not been put into use for an extended period of time, set your battery charger to deliver a max of 10A before charging battery. If your battery charger is automatic, charge the battery until the charger indicates that charging is complete. If the charger is not automatic, charge for a minimum of eight hours.

Good and bad mower

This mower is both good and bad. It handles pretty easily. I am 78 years old and about 155 pounds and I have little trouble using it on my 1 1/4 acres of moderately sloped lawn. The front casters allow easy turns and maneuverability around trees and flower beds. When grass is normal height and dry it cuts well and evenly. It has enough power. It starts with the first turn of the key. However, the clutch cable broke after 38 hours. The three year warranty does not cover any part that moves, so it is worthless. The mower does not cut well in high or wet grass. The drive or clutch cable grip leads to wrist fatigue from holding it down rather than being able to squeeze it from the bottom. No, I would not recommend, too many design flaws.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice wide deck, but it's a handful!

I bought this because I have a large lawn. Although it is self propelled, it is a bit of a monster. You have to get used to letting go of the drive lever if you can't make a turn or might roll into something because it is very powerful. The reverse gear is useless so I find myself just pulling the mower back toward me manually. The electric start is a big plus because I have bad shoulders. From a maintenance point of view I have replaced a bunch of parts in the last 7 years but overall it's been pretty reliable. The grass collector bag fills up pretty quickly so it must be emptied frequently which is rough on the human body because it is connected with a small bungy cord all the way at the front bottom. All in all it has been a decent and reliable mower.

Love/Hate

A beast if you have a big field of long grass without trees etc. Not easy to maneuver or shift gears. Biggest complaint are all the attachments: mulch plug, bag attachment, bag zipper and belts. Plan on buying replacements at the start and end of each mowing season.

Yes, I recommend this product.
