Q&As

1 - 10 of 19 Questions

Q: Do both batteries need to be installed to run the mower? Or can it run on one battery alone while the other is charging?

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hello! You do not need to install both batteries for this mower to operate. One fully charged Greenworks 60V battery will power the mower, allowing you to keep the second battery on the charger while you mow. When the battery in use needs recharging, simply turn the mower off, wait until it is completely stationary, and swap in the charged battery. You can also install both batteries to extend the available mowing time between charging breaks. For any additional questions, contact Greenworks Support at 1-888-909-6757 or through Live Chat on our website. We’ll be glad to assist!

Q: Can you use 8.0ah battery with this mower?

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hi Mike, Yes, this mower is compatible with Greenworks 60V batteries, including higher-capacity options like an 8.0Ah battery, so you should have no issue using one with the unit. Many customers choose a larger Ah battery for extended runtime, especially when mowing larger yards or thicker grass conditions. Runtime can vary depending on grass height, terrain, self-propelled usage, and cutting conditions, but an 8.0Ah battery can help reduce the need for battery swaps during longer mowing sessions. This mower also features a brushless motor for strong cutting performance and quieter operation, along with self-propelled drive assistance to help make mowing more comfortable and efficient. If you have any additional questions about batteries, runtime, or setup, Greenworks Customer Support can be reached at 1-888-909-6757 or through Live Chat.

Q: If the answer to this question is no, I will likely still purchase this mower. You have done a great job of answering questions below. If the lawn is damp, or if you are away from house so do not care about mulching, can you disengage the mulching option?

  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hello yogelena, Yes, this Greenworks 60v 25 inch lawn mower comes with 2 in 1 features which include: bagging and mulching. Q: Can i use higher amperage batteries in this mower?

  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hi Johnboyw, Thank you for your question. Each voltage line (24V, 40V, 60V and 80V) has a set of tools that are only interchangeable within their own voltage platform. Only Greenworks batteries, chargers and machines of the same voltage are compatible and interchangeable with one another. **There are a few exceptions: Our 60V 8.0Ah battery model 2957102 cannot be used in the following tools: any 60V 12" Snow Shovel, any 60V 22" Snow Blower, any 60V Tiller/Cultivator, or any 60V machine that has a battery port door or lid. We hoped this helped!

Leaves strip of grass un-mowed.

I’ve been using this mower for the last 4 or so years. The main problem is the mower leaves a strip of uncut grass in the middle. Not sure why as the blades overlap. Bad design? It takes twice as long to mow the lawn as I have to go over the entire lawn at least twice to get it all mowed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be when you are not getting the even cut you expect. Keeping the blades sharp and the underside of the mower deck clear of grass and debris can help improve cutting performance. If the grass is longer, mowing at a slower pace and limiting each cut to about one-third of the grass height may also help. For additional mower tips and maintenance guidance, you can visit the Greenworks YouTube channel. If you continue to notice the uncut strip, please connect with Greenworks Customer Success through Live Chat on our website or by phone at 1-888-909-6757, and our team will be happy to assist.

Wrong parts?

I thought, "Wow, this is going to be great. And easy to put together!" I was wrong and it seems that the bottom of the handle was about 4 or 5 inches wider than the rest of the handle. I don't think that the parts were matching. Funny though - on the beginning to your automated phone line for help, one of the things to note was this: "If you use foul language your call will be automatically discontinued." Or something to that effect. Gosh, I wonder why you'd put that in your regular greeting?

Don't fear replacing your trusty gas mower!

Had to replace an old 144cc Brigg & Stratton mower finally after many years of service. It certainly took a beating for many years. I was very concerned about if a battery operated mower could really do the job. My lot isn't huge...about 5,000 sq ft movable area I'd guess. By the time I'd made decision (after hours of research) the lawn was pretty tall and thick. Perfect test I thought. What a dream this mower is! I don't like self propelled (I have may reasons) so I purchased the push mower. With the bigger wheels this thing just seemed to glide through the grass. It sounded more like I was vacuuming the lawn than mowing it and no vibrations! It never even bogged or hesitated once despite the workout I was giving it...never used Turbo mode at all. When I was done, I decided to lower the mower one notch and do another mulching pass on the back yard. Completely finished that and had 25% of the battery left. Recharge time was quick (less than an hour)...but I didn't even need to worry about a recharge or even a second battery. All the features listed in the marketing are true so I won't bore you with that....it stores nicely, it folds away, it has two battery switch over if you want a second battery, etc, etc. I was mainly concerned with does this really have the power....it does in spades.
ProsConvenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Effective, Powerful

Yes, I recommend this product.

Quiet Clean Smooth.

Have had mine for two months. Love it. My wife had trouble pulling the cord on my gas mower so we looked to Greenworks. Got the 25" mower and it has been great. Push a button and squeeze the handle and you're off. Already added a blower tool. Dual battey is great....never runs out for me.
