Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy Fencing We installed the fencing because our cows and horses kept bending the top of the fence over 2 weeks have gone by and everything is great

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not the best fence I installed this wire around a feed lot. It is not nearly as good as the older #9 top/bottom woven wire we used to get from the local feed mill. Is probably OK for goats or something, but cattle and horses push it down ... not heavy enough.

What class galvinization and how heavy is a roll, and what type knot, do the horizontal lines have graduated spacing if so min and max?

Asked by: Mack201
This has a class 1 galvanization, it weighs roughly 221lbs and uses a Monarch® Knot. The horizontal lines do not have graduated spacing and measure 9"W x 6"H.

What's the difference in cattle fence, square deal, and woven field fences?

Asked by: toolman5
Aside from differing gauge of the wire and spacing, the knots are different. The cattle fence you referenced has a Monarch® Knot whereas the square deal and woven field fences tend to have a Square Deal® Knot. The Monarch® Knot acts as a hinge that gives under pressure, then allows the fence to spring back into shape. The Square Deal® Knot prevents Red Brand fence from buckling or sagging. It provides extra strength and rigidity with flexibility for ideal installation over hilly terrain.
