Bull Barn's Fixed Knot 8ft tall deer exclusion fence means business. Manufactured with top-quality Class 3 Galvanized high-tensile 12.5 gauge wire, this fence resists sagging or breakage from animal pressure. The fixed knot's strength prevents slipping. The rolls are 330 ft long. Graduated spacing has horizontal lines closer together at the bottom (which deters deer and small animals from crawling under or through the bottom) and further apart at the top. Keep deer and predatory animals out; keep farm and ranch animals safely in. This low maintenance fence is guaranteed for 20 years.

Q: Should I use wood posts for the corners or will green t posts 10 ft tall work fine

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. For the corners, it’s best to use sturdy wood posts to handle the fence tension. 10 ft green T‑posts work for the line posts along the run, but may not hold corners as securely over time.

Q: What to use to stretch this fence taut?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, to stretch the Bull Barn 330 ft. x 8 ft. Fixed Knot Field Fence (MPN 6452) taut, you should use a stretcher bar designed for high-tensile woven wire, coupled with pullers or come-alongs.

Q: What is the recommended spacing of 7ft T-post for this fencing?

1 Answer
  • Bull Barn
A: Because 20/96/6 is an 8’ high fence, a t-post that is only 7’ will be too short. A fence this tall would be best supported by a 12’ t-post but a 10’ post will work. You can place the t-posts every 15 feet. The closer the t-posts, the stronger the fence.

Q: Can this also do double duty keeping out wild hogs or would that require a heavier panel?

1 Answer
  • Bull Barn
A: The high tensile wire used in this fence can be stretched taut, giving it an extremely high breaking strength to resist wild hogs. For burrowing animals, some installers bend the bottom few inches to prevent rooting under the fence. Our apron fence -- we offer two types on the Tractor Supply website-- folds neatly to rest on top of the ground and resist burrowing. If the wild hogs might get under the fence, these are your best options.
