Producer's Pride Brooder And Coop Heater is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 183.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Brooder set-up's & Coops Exactly what we was looking for and more! We wanted a brooder and a heater for our coop. Found both in 1 product! The Brooder set-up has adjustable legs for when our chicks grow, as well as a spot for chain hanging option (chains, tripod/hanger not included). We can also use the hanger option in our coop OR have the legs on 1 side w/heater vertical next to the wall. Only few things I would change is #1- w/Brooder set-up there is no "anti-roosting cone" accessory, our chicks hop on top the brooder and now we have roasted chick poo on top! Plus side is the heater is easy cleaning, we just use a food safe sanitizer to wipe down then 1 more wipe w/wet paper towel, then towel dry. #2- the "Producer's Pride" Logo is on top the Brooder heater and the lettering is raised plastic. Because the letters are raised up, the chick poo gets stuck in between the letters! We use a toothbrush/scrubber too clean this area when we wipe down the brooder everyday. I have already recommended this product to our neighbors who decided to get a small flock after seeing our adorable feather babies. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Producer's Pride takes my advice, and offers an add-on anti-roosting cone/cover for this brooder! (Hint Hint)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pride Brooder and Coop Heater Just got it. Should work fine, but, if not, then TSC has my back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great alternative to hot lamp Great alternative to the hot lamp. We raised chicks this summer and this baby kept them warm and feeling safe (Mimics being under momma hen when set up on four legs) for the first few weeks. Now I have it mounted to wall and just turn it on at night when temp goes down. Looking forward to mounting it in the coop this winter when we get below freezing. My only recommendation to company is to make top smooth. Once chicks could jump on top, it got filthy and was hard to clean with the letters embossed. If it was more flat or even had a removable top cover that you could put the hose on, that would be helpful! Otherwise great product and helped me sleep easy knowing our chicks were warm and without fire risk!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I used this for 2 hatches. It worked great and kept the chicks warm. It even worked with turkey poults which are even more difficult to keep alive.

I have one as well. If it only gets up to 90° then technically it can't be used as a broader correct? Broader heat needs to be around 10° warmer. Is this product safe right over the top of pine shavings?

Asked by: LynnsLayers12
90° is not technically temperature for the brooder. The specific maximum temperature that can be reached has a great relationship with the actual environment temperature. The result of test at 86 degrees Fahrenheit (F) is, the temperature of the equipment will stabilize at 122 degrees Fahrenheit (F) after 25 minutes of stabilization at gear I (Brooder, 40W) and changes between 131 and 176 degrees Fahrenheit (F) after 5 minutes of stabilization at gear II (Heater, 200W).

I just purchased this for two day old chicks. I have it on top of pine shavings which i read it to be ok? Is this true? And how does this work when needing to reduce temps? I have it on the brooder but don’t you drop 5deg. Weekly?

Asked by: Adc2303
There is only 2 settings and you cannot adjust the temperature.

I was given this as a gift a few months ago and just recently got chicks to use it. The first day it worked great. The second day it just stopped working. The light is on the switch (that says brooder/heater) but no heat is coming out?

Asked by: FloridaJenn
Please turn the switch on “Heater” function since it is higher wattage of 200W, the “Brooder” function has low wattage of 40W with less heat.
