The unit has 2 different modes to choose from - heater/brooder - and uses radiant heat technology, a natural, safe and energy-efficient choice. The unit offers 3 different height positions and has a built-in thermostat to make controlling the temperature a breeze. Chicken coop heater/brooder measures 18.9 in. x 12 in. x 1.26 in.

Baby chicks will roost on this!

I really wish I knew to get a antiroost one, My baby chicks jumped on this even at the highest level and pooped all over it which is another thing to clean. Also scared they will hurt themselves. For the price you pay you would think it came with an actual Temperature adjuster to bump down their heat every week and a way to actually hang it so they don’t roost on it. Other than that it does keep them warm.

We were in a hurry to get something other than the lamp. So we were able to find this to be a bit safer. It has done an amazing job for all 10 chicks.

Warning!! Defective!!

If I could give no stars I would. We decided to try this when I decided to try silkies this year. The first week we kept losing chicks. I did all the right stuff (changed bedding, etc.) thinking I was doing something wrong. Turns out mine was defective and cooked 7 of the chickens to death. I was given the refund when I went back to heat lamp, remaining birds are great now. I was offered a "steep discount" on birds the should have offered to replace or refund! I am livid with TSC and this product! DO NOT BUY!!!
