is it safe to feed this to a mixed flock of adult chickens, turkeys, and babies? Its hard to separate their food

Asked by: millican
Hello, Thank you for the question. While chick starter is not ideal for adult birds, particularly layer hens, due to low calcium levels, if you ensure free-choice access to oyster shell or another calcium source while feeding chick starter, they would be OK for the duration of feeding the chick starter. Ideal would be to provide an all-flock or layer feed with the proper nutrition for those adult birds, however.

My ducklings are 6 weeks old and almost as big as their parents. How long do I have to feed them chick starter? Or can they just eat adult food now?

Asked by: Hawgwild382
Hello, Thanks for the question. We recommend ducklings be on a starter feed until 8-10 weeks of age, to complete healthy development. One thing to note, if you are feeding a chick starter not specifically designed for ducklings, you may want to consider supplementing niacin. Most vitamin and electrolyte mixes have niacin, and you can provide it through the water. If you have any further questions, please let us know!
