Producer's Pride Citadel Coop, 14 Chicken Capacity

We like this chicken coop except the paint is inadequate for properly protecting the wood. The plastic roofing has leaks that we've had to caulk, And we've had to fill in large gaps in the flooring. Also multiple drill holes not lining up despite following directions precisely. We've added wood to raise up the lips on the chicken boxes so that the bedding isn't kicked out as easily. We painted the interior of the chicken coop as well to help protect the wood from droppings and leaks. The doors are a little offset and just generally things don't fit quite right but they're just okay enough for a $1000 chicken coop. I'd recommend it but be aware you will need to modify it before it's going to last you any amount of time. We will likely upgrade the roof to tin.

Overall I love the coop BUT it definitely could be better. The paint is a flat white and shows every mark so I'll be repainting mine. There are lots of gaps that will allow predators like snakes to get in easily so you'll need to seal a lot yourself. Also, the instructions and images were difficult to follow at times.

Please only purchase this if you have help. This is literally a two or three person job. The directions are a bit weird in the beginning. After you get past the pre assembly steps and get the hang of it, it goes ok. Make sure when you do the roof, you line of both covers and make sure they will fit snug after nailing roof. They did do a great job labeling all the parts and pieces. It’s an absolute beautiful coop and really sturdy as I’ve had to get my whole body inside of it. Figure out where you want it exactly when you start putting it together cause it’s not moving once you get past step 10 haha I would prolly buy this again if I could pay someone to put it together for me. It was a pain in the booty over all. My girls love it and we will add a chicken run to it

The coop is large and roomy. The floor is thin cheap 1/4" plywood. The door to the pen is a hatch in the floor that ya have to open the coop to get to.
