Rated 3 out of 5 by from Buy online and pick up at store I bought a chainsaw online, when I went into the store I had to wait and then sign papers to pick up..took to long when I had the online receipt plus the barcode

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Starter pulley broken after one week After using this chain saw for only one week, the hole that the starter rope feeds through on the plastic starter pulley tore out and the rope pulled free. Repeated attempts to reattach the rope to the starter pulley were fruitless as it pulled right back through the tear in the pulley. Very unhappy with this purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Chain tensioner fails I bought this for my son as a gift. He said it runs well but the chain always loosens up and falls off the bar upon use. very frustrating. would like to solve before returning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheaply made My wife went to TSC and bought this because it was cheap. Cranked up the first time with no issues. Went to crank it the second time and the starter pulley broke where the string won't stay in anymore. I'd go with a better brand. More money, but if i'm paying per use, it would be way more cost effective.

I have had one of these for about a year now, most of my other 2 cycle equipment I have been using off the shelf mixes with better luck then mixing my own. would my poulan work well with these mixes?

Asked by: waynem
Hi Waynem. Absolutely! If you prefer not having to mix fuel and oil, the premixed options are awesome. Just make sure you purchase the right mix. 50:1 mix is recommended for most of our current chainsaws, but you'll want to check the user manual for your particular model because some of our pre-2017 models recommended a 40:1 mix for optimum performance. Thank you so much for considering Poulan Pro for your outdoor power equipment needs.

I have a Poulan Pro 260 42cc I would like to replace the bar but I am have a heck of a time finding the replacement bar because the chain tension adjust screw is on the bar and not on the body of the saw Why is it so hard to find a replacement bar

Asked by: Niterider
Hi Niterider. So sorry for the delayed response. The part # for the replacement bar for this model is 952044689. That bar fits 18" chainsaws, regardless of whether the chain tensioning is on the side or front. Thank you so much for choosing Poulan Pro for your outdoor power equipment needs.

What is the difference between this saw and the ppr4218a predator besides the color?

Asked by: guest76
Engine and Bar size are same. The major difference between the two saws is that the Predator comes with a kit (carrying case, extra chain, chain file, 2 cycle oil mix, bar chain oil and one pair of gloves).

My local store had just switched from the PP4218A to this model. I've tried looking for a difference between the two. Is there anything that warrants spending the extra $30 to get the newer model?

Asked by: starboy
Hi starboy. The two models are pretty much the same, except that chain tensioning is on the side with this one, and on the front with the PP4218A. It could be that one of them included a case or extra chain, but I'm not sure since the other model is no longer listed. Thank you so much for considering Poulan Pro for your outdoor power equipment needs.

can you put a 20" bar on this chain saw?

Asked by: dude18
Hi dude18. While you can in some cases, it's not recommended that you use a different size bar than what is listed in the specs on the original product. Chainsaw performance platforms are certified using a particular bar length. Thank you for considering Poulan Pro for your outdoor power equipment needs.

What's the warranty for the 42cc chainsaw

Asked by: Ricky tee
Hi Ricky. Poulan Pro chainsaws are backed by a 2-year warranty. You can find detailed information about our warranty program at: http://www.poulanpro.com/us/support/warranty-coverage/ Also worth noting, consumers who purchase qualified two-stroke gasoline-powered Poulan Pro handheld products like chainsaws, blowers, hedge trimmers, pole saws, and trimmers can extend their product warranty from the standard 2 years to a 3-year limited warranty when Poulan Pro-branded pre-mixed fuel is purchased at the same time product is purchased (receipt must show purchase of product and fuel on same transaction). Product must be registered online to take advantage of the program. You can learn more about our extended warranty program at: http://www.poulanpro.com/us/support/extended-warranty-program/
