So far I love the ease and quality of pictures I am getting from these cameras,

Most animal activity is at night and therefore trail cameras need to perform well during those hours. The Micro 42i night images are terrible. The motion sensor seems to trigger OK , but its difficult to identify the animal that caused the trigger. I have other Moultrie models in the same price range that take a far superior quality night image. This cam had issues with batteries not lasting through the night the first couple set ups. Now that seems to have resolved but with new issues. I won't continue to waste my time with this unit and if you don't take it back I'll purchase something else and just write this off as a bad Moultrie experience.

Not off to a good start. Batteries leaked while still in package. Fingers crossed the acid did not reach the camera.

I have several of these micro cameras now, and I've been pleasantly surprised. With their size, they only hold 4 AA batteries, so I expected them to have a fairly short battery life, but I've got some that are 10 months in now and still on the original batteries. And they've taken pictures almost every single day. I'm utterly shocked how efficient they are. I don't know that they have the best motion sensor ever, but they seem to do pretty well. They pick up deer a shockingly long distance away. I have one that isn't doing great on the sensor range, but upon inspection, a woodpecker decided to attack the camera and damaged the plastic where the motion sensor is. It still works, I think it's just not optimal now. And the picture clarity is great. Honestly, I expected them to be mediocre because of the tradeoffs needed for their size, but I don't see a reason to buy the full sized cameras again.
