Rated 5 out of 5 by from Continuously Blows Cold I love our new window a/c unit. It brings much relief to our room during this crazy Texas heat. It continuously blow cold air and creates a comfortable atmosphere for sleeping. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs quiet, cools really well. We are in South Carolina so keeping cool in the summer is really important. We have had two of these units in place for about a month now. One unit is in the bedroom-runs quietly and keeps the room cool even on the hottest and muggiest nights we have had to date. No problem sleeping at all with the super quiet operation. The second unit is in the sunporch-I work at home in that room which has 9 windows and a 15 light door. The room can really bake in the afternoon sun but the LW6017R keeps me cool and comfortable in the worst heat of the day. This is a great unit and a real value for the money. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and powerful! So happy with this purchase. Quieter and more powerful than the other two window units of another brand that I have. Almost thought about replacing the other two even though they are only a couple years old. Certainly will be replacing them with another LG like this when they're ready. Also love the fact that it's using R-32 refrigerant when there are still so many out there with the older, more harmful r-410a. Keep up the good work, LG, and hopefully you'll continue innovating and making an even better product when I'm ready to replace my other two window units! How do you set unit for auto so it won't just run day and night

Asked by: A town
Adjusting the temperature controls on the unit would be the best way to keep the unit from cooling unnecessarily. Set the unit to a desired temperature, and once the room reaches the set temperature, the unit will go into Energy Saver mode until additional cooling is needed.

My window is only 19" wide. Will this unit fit in my window?

Asked by: GettingwarminMKE
The LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW6017R is designed for installation in standard single-hung or double-hung windows with actual opening widths from 21" to 35". The upper and lower window sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 12" from the bottom of the upper sash to the window stool. The window has a width of 17 5/16" and if you do not use the left and right guide panels that have curtains on them to close the gaps that are left on either side of the window after installation, it will fit into a width of 19" provided your window meets the vertical opening requirement. You will also need to find an alternative way to close the gaps between the window casing and the air conditioner since the left and right guide panels will not fit into a 19" width (hence the minimum width of 21")...^IFV

It seems that when the unit is running, looking at the scoops on the blower wheel, that mine is running backwards. From the front it turns counter clockwise. Is that correct?

Asked by: Owensbubba
This does not sound like the unit is operating properly. We would recommend having a technician take a look at the unit. This might be a dumb question but if I have a window unit could I just place it in the room without putting it in the window

Asked by: nette67
No ... in fact there was just a fatal fire in a home in Ludlow MA where 3 people died and it was implied an ac malfunctioned and was on floor of room. I would say not matter what the brand this is only for window placement.

How do i clean filter properly and how do i get the notification red light to turn off??

Asked by: Malorie0216
The air filter can be removed from the front grille by lifting the air filter up. It is recommended to use lukewarm water to wash the air filter. Gently shake the excess water from the filter and replace. The indicator light can be turned of by pressing the TEMP UP and DOWN together on the control panel (cannot be done from the remote).
