Q: Where/how does the small black tube connected to the front panel get installed?

  • A: Hi there. Great question! That small black tube on your LG window A/C LW2524RD is your drainage lifeline—it keeps excess moisture flowing out, not in. Connect it snugly to the rear drain port, angle it downward, and let gravity do the rest. No kinks, no fuss—just smooth, efficient water management. LG designed it to be simple, so your cool stays cool and your space stays dry. For more questions, private message us on social media @LGUSSupport. Q: I would like to add the WiFi to my brand new LW2524RW. I saw the connector for it.

Q: What style electric plug does this unit take? A picture would help. And just to confirm - It does work with 208 volts

  • A: The plug for the LG 24,000/ 24,500 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW2524RD has a 6-20P NEMA Configuration (one horizontal blade, and one vertical blade over a horseshoe-shaped grounding pin). We do not have any images or pictures of the plug but you do an online search for the 6-20P NEMA Configuration which will yield numerous results...^Ivan.

However, we found a remote that is compatible with your A/C. You can purchase AKB73016019 here: https://lgparts.com/products/akb73016019?_pos=1&_sid=fcf8b0e71&_ss=r. Q: We are needing to replace the LW2516ER model for use in our walk-in cooler. Will this model fit in the same ac cabinet frame and/or hole in the cooler wall and use the same electrical outlet? The LW2516ER model doesn't appear to be available anywhere.

Q: I am going to install an LG LW2524RD 24,500 A.C. unit. I would like to know what size wire you recommend, breaker size, opening size and receptacle type.

  • A: Hello, Aurea. When you ask about opening size, are you looking to install the LG 24,000/ 24,500 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW2524RD in a wall? This unit is designed for installation in standard single-hung or double-hung windows with actual opening widths from 27" to 39". Your top and bottom window sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 16" from the bottom of the upper sash to your window stool. All the side louvers of the cabinet must remain exposed to the outside of the structure. As a Window Air Conditioner, a single-hung or double-hung window is required for proper installation. Non-window installations, including using sleeves or wall openings and other installation methods, are not recommended. The unit is equipped with a power cord that includes a current interrupter device. TEST and RESET buttons are provided on the plug case of the current interrupter device. The plug (NEMA Configuration 6-20p) must be plugged into a standard 240 V, 3-wire grounding receptacle rated 20 A / 240 VAC / 60 Hz (NEMA Configuration 6-20R), protected by a 20-amp time delay fuse or 20-amp circuit breaker... Big A/C unit with lots of cooling power!

I love my new 12,000 btu LG air conditioner. The install was quite simple if your windows are perfectly square, but mine are not. You must pull the center of the unit out first and install the outer frame first. It was quite challenging to put the faceplate on the unit at the end and get it to stay attached correctly. I was able to fix the situation. Overall the directions are simple and easy to follow overall. This unit sits in the window very sturdy so no worries of it falling out randomly. Other than that is has been amazing. The air quality is great. This Lg A/C cools my whole downstairs level fast and efficiently. It can handle 1000 square feet no problem. I can keep my living room, bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and dining room at a nice and cool temperature all day long. I love when my house is cold during the summer and this will definitely get the job done. Its very quiet and runs smooth. I barely can tell it’s running. It also comes with a simple and easy to use remote. This is a big window unit so make sure it will fit before purchasing. LG is usually really good with the energy consumption but we will see in the future. Overall a great A/C unit to have, especially for big areas. I will definitely be comfortable and cool all summer long..

Great AC for a 400sq ft sunroom

I recently installed the LG 450 sq ft window air conditioner in my 400 sq ft sunroom, and I’m very happy with the results. It cools the space incredibly fast—even on the hottest days, it makes the room comfortable in no time. Installation and removal are both straightforward, which makes it convenient for seasonal use. One feature I really like is the adjustable airflow direction. Being able to change the wind side helps circulate cool air exactly where I need it. While the unit is a bit on the louder side, the sound doesn’t bother me—it’s a fair trade-off for the strong performance. I also think it doesn’t use too much energy, which is a big plus, especially when running it frequently during heat waves. Overall, this AC has been a great addition. It’s powerful, efficient, easy to use, and makes a real difference on high-temperature days.

Nice unit

Good unit does what it meant to do cool and quiet, it's a little beast it does cool nicely and the dry out function seem to work to over all a great product with good air flow, easy install and you can definitely run this on a portable generator if you have 700w I would say it's energy efficient if you compare it to other units.

Good Quality AC Unit

This air conditioning unit is the perfect size for a small space! It’s not too loud inside and the fan blows really strong. It comes with a remote which is nice! It also has the foam gasket to help insulate the unit and reduce any light coming through
