The American Farm Works 2.2-Joule 60-Mile AC-Powered Low Impedance Electric Fence Controller is used to contain livestock and exclude predators in locations that have access to AC power. Low impedance electric fence chargers have low internal resistance, which allows for increased joules on the fence line. This means that energy can push through weeds or vegetation to keep the fence hot. This electric fence controller powers a range of up to 60 miles of fencing, works in heavy weed conditions and can be used with all wire types, including high-tensile metal, polywire, polyrope and polytape. Whether intended for horses, pigs or other animals, this electric fence controller supplies the power you need to create a confident setup. For additional assurance, this American Farm Works electric fence charger is UL listed and backed by a 3-year limited warranty. Assembled in USA.

- A: A flashing light is normal. It's the "Fence OK" indicator, and it means the controller is running and sending voltage to the fence line. It isn't an error or fault light. (The red, yellow and green lights some American Farm Works chargers show are battery indicators on solar models, and they don't apply to this AC-powered unit.) The light can still flash if the fence is shorted or losing power, so it doesn't prove the fence is hot enough. The most accurate check is an electric fence tester on the fence line. If the animals aren't being deterred even though the light flashes, check for shorts (wet vegetation, cracked insulators or rusty connections touching the wire) and test your grounding.3 days agoHelpful?
Q: There is a small spark and clicking sound. Is this normal and is it waterproof for florida weather

- A: A clicking sound is normal for this type of charger. It's also fine if the clicking changes over time or stops, because it doesn't tell you whether the charger is working. The best way to check is a no-load test with a fence tester made for electric fences (a standard multimeter will give wrong readings). A spark is different, and we can't confirm it's normal. Unplug the charger and check that the wire connections are tight, clean and free of rust, and that no wire is touching the case or another metal surface. Then plug it back in and test again. If it still sparks, please let us know where you see the spark (terminal, wire or outlet). This charger isn't rated as waterproof. For Florida rain and humidity, we recommend mounting it in a sheltered spot, such as a garage or shed, or inside a protective enclosure.3 days agoHelpful?

Great Fence Charger!

Works perfect for us. We have a 5 acre horse farm that uses the 4 strand electric poly rope fencing. We also have rotational grazing areas within the pasture using the electric fencing. This was a good choice. Horses and humans respect it!
