Item Information

The American FarmWorks 60 Mile 2 Joule Fence Charger is used to control all livestock and exclude predators in locations that have access to AC power. Low impedance electric fence chargers have low internal resistance; which allows for increased joules on the fence line. This means that energy can push passed weeds or vegetation to keep the fence hot. This charger powers a range of up to 60 miles of fence and works in heavy weed conditions.

The American FarmWorks 60 Mile AC Low Impedance Fence Charger can be used with all wire types including high tensile, poly wire, poly rope, and poly tape. This charger is UL listed.

  • Energizes 60 miles of fence wire under optimal conditions
  • For use in heavy vegetation conditions
  • "Fence OK" indicator light shows when charger is activated
  • AC power, 2.2 joule output, low impedance
  • Operates American FarmWorks fencing, including high tensile steel or aluminum, poly wire, poly rope, and poly tape

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy Works great put it in the middle of you one continuous run that way it runs two directions for maximum juice on both ends. I have 3.5 acres an that’s the only way to get it to run the whole thing with enough juice! It bites!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product fine, but spam forever after. Product is as advertised, works correctly. Delivery was prompt. However, I will never buy from Tractor Supply again due to daily spam, despite repeated "unsubscribes".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes, but Easy to set up. I don't know if it is going to be strong enough. I am used to the more powerful model, so I am a bit tentative at this point. But cows seem to respect it, and that is the key. Mike

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Quality Charger so far This packs a punch! We have gone through a couple of solar chargers and none were up to the challenge of our tough grass and weeds. This charger has maintained 8000kv on a 5 strand electric fence from the get go and has kept 12 Kunekune pigs, 8 Boers, 3 Nubians and 1 really rambunctious 2 year old Great Pyrenees in and will knock you on your rear if you accidently touch it. Can not vouch for longevity as we have only been using for a month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job This is my second purchase. Works well. First one lasted almost 4 years.
Date published: 2019-09-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from One with a punch! This one has a punch... I had a solar one that the cows didn't respect, and they seemed to know when to challenge the pulse. I got tired of fixing the electric wire, seeing them where they should be every morning. The 2,000 plus bull would snap the wire clips like potato chips when he wanted the grass on the other side of the fence. This thing will give a kick in the chest as my Marine son said to me. Me, I couldn't even handle the solar one! But my dog touched it, and with a yi, yi, yi he was gone...Needless to say no more fixing fences daily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from American FarmWorks Fence Charger brings the energy American FarmWorks Fence Charger brings the energy needed to get the job done. I find this model more effective than others, keeping pasture pigs and goats in their pastures with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I bought this to replace a solar powered charger. The solar was not providing enough zap to keep my horse in the fence. After installing this one the horse stayed inside the fence. Im very happy with the charger, it wirks great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected Works as expected using for cattle pasture and is keeping the cattle in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice unit at a good price This packs a punch, easy to hook up and comes with a 3 year warranty. I found what I was looking for at Tractor Supply easy. Hopefully this will last for a long time. I like it's compact size. It's easy to tell if it's working or not, easy to tell if there's a short somewhere on the fence line. A nice unit over all and reasonably priced.

Will this work with goats? I see competitor 50 mile chargers at 2.0 joules is this an actual 2.2 joule charger with comparable strength? Also, are these made by zareba? Thanks

Asked by: s_hagy022
This charger can be used to safely contain bulls, exotics, goats, horses, pigs, predators and sheep. It provides a no load output of 11,800 volts (+/-20%). We recommend maintaining a minimum of 4,000-5,000 volts on the fence line for goats. Woodstream Corp manufactures several brands, including American FarmWorks™ and Zareba®. Feel free to call our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-592-7322 with additional questions.

Box is making buzz sound only putting out 1000 volts

Asked by: Danny 176
We recommend testing the energizer with a fence tester across the terminals with both the ground and hot wires removed from the terminals. The voltage should read 11,800 (+/- 20%). We would like to learn more about this experience and offer additional troubleshooting. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-592-7322 for further help.

How many ground rods should be used.

Asked by: Chuck1987
We recommend using at least three 6' ground rods placed at least 10' apart. If the soil is particularly dry and rocky, we recommend adding more ground rods.

How many amps does this unit pull?

Asked by: CO970
All of our energizers have an amp draw that is less than 1.0.

Does this charger have fuse somewhere that can be replaced? I'm getting the clicking sound but no light blink or juice out put.

Asked by: Rooster 007
This energizer has a fuseless design. We recommend removing the fence and grounding wires from the unit and testing across the terminals with a fence tester. As long as your getting the proper voltage (11,800), the energizer is working correctly.
