Item Information

The American FarmWorks 15-Mile AC Powered Low Impedance Charger is used to control small livestock, pets and poultry, as well as repel nuisance animals in locations that have access to AC power. This charger powers up to 15 miles of fence and works in heavy weed conditions. Low impedance electric fence chargers have low internal resistance. This allows for increased joules on the fence line; which means that energy can push past weeds or vegetation to keep the fence hot. The American FarmWorks 15-Mile AC Low Impedance Fence Charger can be used with all wire types including poly wire, poly rope and poly tape.

  • For use in light vegetation conditions
  • "Fence OK" indicator light shows when charger is activated
  • AC power, 0.7 output joules, low impedance
  • Operates American FarmWorks fencing, including high tensile steel or aluminum wire, poly wire, poly rope and poly tape
  • Use it to safely contain cattle, dogs, fowl, goats, horses, pigs and rabbits
  • 1 year limited warranty for peace of mind
  • Made in USA

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Can you use this to keep deer out of your shrubs? Haven't bought this yet (had to give a rating to post my question?!?!) but was thinking this might be a good option for deer prevention. I live approx 60 miles north of NYC and the town doesn't like my preferred deterrent - 12ga.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Won’t buy again I wish I could love this charger as much as other reviewers but I can’t say I’d recommend it. I bought it to set up a temporary pasture for 3 horses while waiting for my new pasture to be cleared, seeded and fenced. On the bright side, it was easy to setup. I also discovered that it provides a substantial zap after watching my mare try to stick her head through (The grass was of course greener on the other side so she just had to test it. I’ve never seen her go from 0 to gallop so quickly lol) After about 2 months, however, the charger stopped working completely. I tried setting it up with different wires/ground rods/ and power cord and it just doesn’t function at all. I really don’t like how the only indicator on it is a single light saying “fence ok”, and obviously my fence is not ok. Thankfully my herd learned to respect it quickly because they’ve been contained in the fence for the past 3 months without it being turned on (shh don’t tell em). I can understand needing to replace the charger every few years, but I don’t think it should’ve gone bad within months. Today I went out and bought a higher end solar charger so I’m hoping that will hold up until my permanent fence is complete.

I have a 1 acre yard with 2 stubborn dogs. I bought this fencer because it was on sale, but after seeing the dogs get hit I'm wondering if this is too much with such a small fenced in area. Is there reason for concern?

Asked by: Raynorshine15
Electric fencing puts out high voltage and very low amps. This energizer outputs 10,500 volts +/- 20%. We recommend a minimum of 700-1,000 volts on the fence line to control pets. As long as the output voltage matches the minimum voltage requirement for dogs, it can be over what we recommend.

What is the expected output voltage? I'd it over 3500 volts?

Asked by: Lauhavbo
The no load voltage output of this energizer is 10,500 volts.

Will this charger harm a full-grown cat?

Asked by: Vetteman3553
This is a pulsating charger, which will allow an animal to let go, should they happen to bite onto the wire. Please keep in mind that we do not recommend electric fencing for animals under 10 lbs.

Is it working right when light is flashing or does it have to be a steady light to mean it's working properly

Asked by: Water
Yes, the light flashes along with the pulsing current to let you know when a charge is emitted.
