Normally I don't do product reviews but for interested kayak enthusiasts will give you the rundown. I own two other sit-in kayaks so I chose this as a sit on kayak. Pro's; affordable, good quality, good features, good paddle included. Con's; does not include the storage hatch bucket to secure items . Tip; I emailed the manufacturer's customer service telling them that this omission concerned me before buying the kayak and they offered to send me a storage hatch bucket at no cost upon proof of purchase receipt emailed to them. Have not yet received the storage hatch bucket but should be here in 2 weeks according to them. Last bit of information to help you make a choice. This kayak handles fairly well disregards to tracking and maneuverability. It is not a speedster because it weighs 50 lb and is 31 in wide and has a flat bottom for stability so I would not want to use it for long flat water trips of more than eight miles. You can, depending on your pace, but it will make you work harder if trying to make time. If you plan to just take lots of leisurely paddle breaks since it is a sit-on you will enjoy the comfort of relaxing on it. It is great for leisurely paddling around the lake and affording you the opportunity to take a dip in the water and get back on it fairly easily. Getting in and out of a sit on is also much easier than a sit in kayak. I'm guessing it will do okay on class one and maybe up to a class 2 river depending on your skill level because it does have fairly good tracking and maneuverability. And should you ever capsize you don't have to bail it out as you would if it were a sit-in kayak. The seat though not padded is comfortable but you can add an additional seat cushion of some type and tape it on with gorilla tape as I did. Overall I find it a very good buy for the money for my purposes which is lake paddling and flat water river and creek paddling of outings rarely exceeding 8 miles at a comfortable pace. The Kayak- steers great, is stable and comfortable once you get going. I have only enjoyed it on the lake but am planning on taking it to the river maybe today. One unexpected surprise while getting situated, the clasp holding the back support (no seat) slipped off which made me fall backwards!! LOL! Honestly, I think I should have paid more for a little different design and chosen on with a full seat with better back support. Another thing I was not expecting is the completely open area in front of me. I thought it was a water proof storage (inside the covered lid) I put a bag of sun screen and other items in there and now... everything is loose and l still in there possibly forever?? Big mistake on my very first outing. It was my own mistake, but wanted to point that out for others to be aware.
