We bought this as one of our first kayaks. This and a cheaper Lifetime. The seat back support strap broke within the first hour of using it. The water that gets into the kayak does not drain out so you sit in water the entire time. The seat bottom slopes down preventing water from going toward the drain holes. The certificate of origin is blank. We won’t be able to register it. Thankfully we were able to get a launch permit without it. It came with no paperwork like the lifetime did. The cheaper lifetime is far superior to the Field and Stream Pompano.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Poor quality

My plant manager bought this kayak brand new and used it once. Complained about it taking in water. I bought it from him thinking it was just him but I was terribly wrong!!! Did the same thing to me.
Got it back home and filled the bottom of the kayak with water to see if it was leaking on the bottom or from the scupper holes but nothing. Tilted the yak forward so I could fill the entire thing with water and then every screw and rivet started leaking!!! Even had two cracks in the back storage area!!!
So while paddling and fishing, every screw has a reservoir around it catching water which in turn starts going into the kayak.
Now I’m having to seal this whole thing. Not to mention all the screws are put in crooked and pretty much stripped out. Hints random parts falling off!!!
No, I do not recommend this product.

Looks good but watch out!

Boat looked nice but first time out, the footpegs ripped out leaving a hole in the hull. Make sure to test this before taking your kayak out as this can be a security
