I had searched for some time for snake proof boots that I could wear while clearing out land. After reading reviews I decided on these. First the pros. They are comfortable for a boot of that type. They fit snug when zipped, and make you feel protected. If you're working in an area with briars they will not catch and tear the boot. They are also very warm, at least for a mild area. Last are my cons. Mine are not 100% waterproof. Maybe im wrong in thinking they were supposed to be. I'd say water repellent slightly. I never submerged the boots in water, maybe ankle to lower calf at best, and my feet were soaked. Bad if you need totally waterproof. The other issue I had was that my zipper(the metal piece ypu hold on to so that you can zip it) broke in half. Makes it almost difficult to zip. LaCrosse said they would check and make sure the warranty would cover my boots but processing time being 3 weeks at the best time of year to do work outside doesnt help much. Seems that the reason I had to submit pictures was so the warranty could be evaluated. Maybe in the future offer a way to credit for the boots and then the customer can send the old pair. I get the downside to that but I'm sure not all people need that option. Good product overall. I would purchase again, but may go with a rubber boot next time.
