Grizzly is proud to offer these full-featured Extreme 17 in. Heavy-duty Bandsaws with cast iron wheels. The 2 HP motor powers through wood at a maximum 12 in. cutting capacity and the 16-1/4 in. throat is plenty for most applications. Features like the deluxe fence, extra-wide cast iron table, heavy-duty miter gauge, dual 4 in. dust ports, micro-adjusting geared table, and double ball-bearing blade guides are usually found on machines costing much more. And, the ISO 9001 factory designation assures high quality standards. The motor brake on the G0513X2BF stops the blade in 3 seconds and ensures greater safety and faster production times. The foot pedal activates the electronic motor brake and the manual brake so that you can have both of your hands on the workpiece when bringing the blade to a stop.

The electrical wire strain relief is useless

Saw been running great, resawing a bunch of 1 1/2 in oak and hickory. I am also glad I bought the unit with the foot brake. My only issue was the electrical strain relief is all plastic and would not hold wire in place with out clamp installed on wire. Yes I was using wire recommended type and gauge.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Features - a top notch addition to any shop

Just setup my new saw. Very impressive. After having an old rebuilt 14", the fact that this machine is solid makes this woodworker/woodturner very happy. My sweet wife likes the idea of the quick-stop features of this saw. I look forward to testing out the resaw capabilities. The fence is a beast! It will handle anything you throw at it (within reason). A++ in my workshop.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Enjoyable to use, really accurate cuts.

So far, so good. This is my first real bandsaw, after having a 10" for many years. It's really enjoyable to use. Setup took me a fairly long time. The manual is good, but it needs a better process overview of what to adjust when. I think the section on table alignment could be better (measuring with a square, IMO, is not sufficient). I am getting +/- 1/100th inch resaw on 4" redwood boards using the included fence (not the 6" aluminum one, as my boards are short). I'm using the Grizzly 2/3 TPI 3/4" blade. I did manage to strip the "off" button out of the panel by pulling it instead of twisting it. Plastic. Grizzly support got back to me with how to fix it (either unscrew the panel and re-tighten a nut, or order a replacement switch if I managed to strip it). Twist, don't pull the off switch to reset it. The T28000 mobile base did not work well for me. It needs a pretty flat floor, which I don't have. I was able to shim it with some plywood under the two swivel wheels and leveling nuts, which helped a lot. I also re-tightened all the adjustments on it after getting the saw in to position. That helped a lot too. I also used a sledge to take out the slack in the rails. It's now good enough. I guess I was spoiled by my sawstop industrial base, which is rock solid when down. I used a plastic T and two 90* elbows to get the dust collection down to one connection. Seems to work OK with my 1 hp Jet 650 DC.

We're glad you're enjoying the precision that you are achieving with the bandsaw. We appreciate your feedback on the manual and the table alignment process, and will take your suggestions into consideration for future enhancements. It's good to point out the twist vs. pull detail with the switch, which could help others avoid the same issue. Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with your new machine, and we appreciate your support.

Great saw. Wish the knobs were metal and not plastic

Nicely made, lots of power, easy to set up and adjust. Which the knobs were metal instead of plastic
