The DEWALT Deep Cut Band Saw is a reliable tool that you will use for years to come. The deep cut band saw has a powerful 10 amp motor for operating various jobsite applications and cutting rectangular stock up to 5 inches deep. This band saw features a variable speed dial which allows user to vary speed for specific materials and various applications. Externally replaceable brushes allow for quick repairs on the jobsite.3-year limited warranty

  • 5 in. deep cut capacity for rectangular stock (5 x 4-3/4 in. for round)
  • Serviceable steel shroud and rubber bumpers allow guards to withstand jobsite abuse without damage
  • LED sight light allows user to see cut line in dark jobsite environment
  • Integrated hang hook allows user to hang saw without damaging front handle or castings

Terrible

The rubber tires on the circumference of each wheel spontaneousily changed state from a solid to a sticky gel that ruins all that it contacts. The saw band, guides, and even the wheels themselves have to be replace as the black goo that was once the tires is too difficult to remove. I am completely disgusted with the saw and DeWalt. It is like the tool is designed to self-destruct gentle use.

Like the saw, but why do the tires melt?

I've had the saw for a couple years, use is one a month or so for bladesmithing. Had a saw blade crack and when trying to remove found a black sticky substance all over the inside of the saw. Noticed more inside the saw shroud and when I touched the tires found both were uneven, melting and sliding off the wheels! After reviewing this issue I'm seeing that many people have even worse luck with replacement tires. Is there a "good" brand to buy for a replacement?
