Champion Power Equipment 5500-Watt Portable Generator with Wheel Kit is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 865.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Up and running in no time With the storms and power outages we needed a generator quickly and this unit was simple, quick and and very easy to set up and get operational. Assembly (wheels, handle, adding oil and gas, etc.), took 15 minutes. The unit started on the first pull and the five hour run time, before placing a load on the generator, is one of the shortest around - and went by quickly enough while running extension cords to appliances.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power outage powerhouse My city was recently hit by a bad storm that the local electrical company linemen referred to as being the worst in their careers. No electricity for nearly 200,000 customers for 4 days to a week. I bought this generator as soon as I learned that power would likely be out for several days. Out of the box I added gas and oil, turned the gas to on, set the choke. One pull and it fired right up!!! It allowed us to run two refrigerators, a couple lights, our internet modem/router and a tv. Entire neighborhoods were in the dark, we were at ease that recently purchased groceries would not spoil and we stayed connected. A+++ generator.

As I write, family member is on his way to Tractor Supply Co to buy one. We have no power because a snow storm created a lot of damage thru out the county. What else do we need to buy to wire it up into the circuit breaker box ?? and power cords. Thanks

Asked by: JohnNYSEMTB
Unless you have a properly installed transfer switch or interlock device, you should not attempt to connect this directly to your home. Consult a local licensed electrician. In the meantime, use extension cords into your home to run the appliances.

Will this run a table saw ,sander and a radio

Asked by: Rickarizona
We do recommend a 5,500 watt or larger for these types of tools, particularly the table saw. Depending on the amperage draw of each item, you may or may not be able to run them at the same time. You can contact us at SUPPORT@CPEAUTO.COM with the voltage/amperage requirements and we can help you size a generator if you would like. Thank you.

Does this unit have a fuel gauge? If not, then can you by a gauge to install?

Asked by: samokc
No, sorry, there is no fuel meter on the top of the fuel tank. You can remove the fuel cap and view the fuel level this way as the filter basket inside goes nearly to the bottom of the tank. This makes it easy to get an idea of how much fuel remains when you look inside.

will it run an A/C unit for an RV?

Asked by: 4czn10
Most RV's have a 15,000 BTU AC unit or below. An AC unit of this size takes between 3,300-3,500 watts. A generator of this size should have no issue running a single AC unit in your RV as well as a few other appliances such as a small refrigerator.
