This Water Source Well System Low Cut-Off Pressure Switch signals the pump to start when the water system drops to 30 PSI (factory set) and stops at 50 PSI (factory set). This well pump pressure switch is to be used with submersible well or jet pumps. It can be wired 115 volt or 230 volt. This pump pressure switch must be used in conjunction with a well pressure tank. The air pressure in the well tank, when empty of all water, must be set to 28 PSI, or the switch will not operate properly. This switch is equipped with a low-level cut-off arm that automatically shuts off a well pump when there is a dramatic decrease in pressure, such as a leak in the discharge pipes or a faulty pressure tank.

  • Signals the pump to start when the water system drops to 30 PSI (factory set) and stops at 50 PSI (factory set)
  • Can be wired 115 volt or 230 volt
  • Well pump pressure switch is equipped with a low-level cut-off arm that automatically shuts off a well pump when there is a dramatic decrease in pressure, such as a leak in the discharge pipes or a faulty pressure tank
  • When first running the pump after installing the pump pressure switch, hold the lever in the start position until pressure reaches 30 PSI
  • For use with submersible well or jet pumps (that can create up to 50 pounds of pressure)
  • Motor wires are connected to the 2 middle posts (color does not matter); Breaker box wires are connected to 2 outside posts (color does not matter)
  • 2-spring design allows for adjustment of cut-in and cut-out pressure settings
  • Adjustments to springs should only be made by users with good knowledge of well systems

I've had well water systems for years and this switch with the low pressure cutout is a must-have. It shuts the pump off when you lose water pressure. Once the water level recovers, just reset the switch.

I've had private water wells on every property I've owned since the 1980's, and this switch was the biggest piece of trash I've ever put on my well! You have to MANUALLY hold the very touchy switch lever down until the well pumps the tank to over 28psi before the switch operates properly. This becomes a major pain in the butt if the electricity goes off for a while and your cattle drink a lot of water out of their troughs, because the pump WILL NOT come on by itself after the electricity comes back on if the pressure in the tank drops below 28psi! I'm going to bring this piece of crap back and get a better switch!

    Low pressure cut out is great

    It has a low pressure cut-out. While some complain about the fact it needs to be manually restarted, that is exactly* what it is supposed to do. Resetting is better than buying a new pump for hundreds of dollars.
